Great work!
This game has really cool features. A mix between space-shooter (or water shooter?) and precise movement sequences is something different, and the way you implemented the transition between them is magnificent. You managed an excelent risk-reward game mechanic! Backgrounds and sprites are simple, but they work as they should.
Just, be careful with the precise movement sequences (parkour?). The collisions of the blocks and the ship are extremely precise but the movement of the ship isn't. Sometimes I wasn't capable to place the ship in small gaps because the smallest movements don't let the player to center the ship (it's like having a movement grid that doesn't allow middle points, sorry if I'm not explaining it well).
Good job! Keep doing games like this and innovating mixing different kinds of mechanics, that's a cool strategy!
Thank you very much for the detailed feedback and for playing the game! I’m really glad you enjoyed the mix of shooting and precise movement mechanics and the transition between them. Your thoughts on the movement precision are very helpful, and I’ll definitely keep them in mind.
Thanks again for the encouragement — it really means a lot!
Ha what an interesting game. Love that you mixed space invaders type gameplay with a puzzle. super fun, great work
Thank you for playing. Yes, when designing the game, I had Space Shooter and Space Invaders in mind. If I had more time, I would have liked to add more variety in terms of weapons and ships. Thank you for your comment.
Fun game I found level 2 to be pretty difficult fitting through the more narrow pathways but after a couple tries I beat it. I like the triple torpedo it was very useful.
Thank you for the kind feedback and for playing!
nice game
Thank you for playing. ☺️
Nice
Thank you for playing. ☺️
I agree, it was a bit difficult to see the bullets against the background, but still fun and enjoyable - reminded my of the old shool arcade games
I’m glad you liked it. I’m planning to adjust the background, so I expect this issue to be resolved then. If not, I’ll make it a bit larger. Thank you for playing and for the feedback — I really appreciate it.
The UI and art need some improvement , it was really hard to see the bullets. Underwater effects could also have been added. Other than that , it was a fun and enjoyable game. Good job.
This was my first time making a WebGL build for a vertical game, so there were some issues with the UI. It wasn’t designed that way originally. All the graphics (except the Tilemap) were designed by me. It was also the first time I fully created my own assets and coded everything myself, so I couldn’t go into too much detail. I tried to add an underwater effect, but I couldn’t find a decent free asset for it, so I went with a simple blue screen instead. Still, thank you very much for playing the game and for your kind feedback — I really appreciate it.
I really enjoyed both the shooting and dodging sections of the game! I also appreciated the inclusion of different weapon types, as it led to a lot of strategy on how to take enemies down. Good job with this!
Thank you so much! I’m really happy you enjoyed the game and its mechanics.
You did a great job with this it really feels like an arcade game and its a good challange. this might be a skill issue but i found the submarine too be quite wide and the gaps quite narrow in the parkour.
Thank you for your comment, I’m glad you liked it. Even though I’ve memorized the map, I can only finish level 2 with a maximum of 2 health. By the way, I didn’t place a trigger on the submarine’s tail, so you don’t need to worry about touching things with it — only the nose and the sides have triggers. There are two single-block passage sections; I wanted to challenge the player a bit. That’s also why I designed the final level to have more relaxed parkour.
This is a very fresh idea for a videogame! I loved playing those arcade shooters in the jet pilots back in the day ( specific names I forgot ) but I’ve never seen it in submarine form before. I’ve also never seen it in obstacle course form before!
I think you have something here! I hope you continue working on it past the game jam :) I rec adding a slight time pressure on the obstacle course
Thank you so much for the kind words and for playing the game!
I’m really happy you enjoyed the arcade shooter inspiration and the submarine twist — that means a lot.
The obstacle course feedback is especially appreciated. Adding a bit of time pressure is a great idea and definitely something I’ll consider if I continue developing the game after the jam.
Level 2 was quite a squeeze lol, just enough to be a nice challenge. Really reminiscent of the old flash games, nice work
Thank you! I’m really glad you enjoyed the challenge 😄
Level 2 was meant to feel tight but fair, so it’s great to hear it hit that balance for you.
The comparison to old Flash games really means a lot — that retro feeling was exactly what I was aiming for.
Thanks again for playing and sharing your feedback!
Nice sprites and sound effects, the music makes you dive in directly! It was nice to have some change of gameplay as well, like progressing with obstacles in the second level.
My downside would be that the settings didn't work properly, so I couldn't lower the sound effects. Good job on your entry!
First of all, thank you for playing! Unfortunately, I noticed the issue with the settings only after uploading the game. However, you can adjust the sound during the level by pressing the Esc key. I most likely forgot to connect the sound slider in the main menu to the SoundManager GameObject.
I’m also really glad you liked the sprites — they are all my own designs Except Tilemap Section.
