Nothing like my trusty weapon John while I ride my Dead horse. This was such a clever take on the prompt. Great job! You have about 12,663,023,891,548,041,000,000,000 combinations, which is a lot. Thanks for not allowing numbers. That would have been a much larger number...

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! Now I'm interested in what scientific calculations were used to land at that number

Submitted

So, 8 options of 26 letters. Then 8 options of coloring each letter. Do that 3 times and you get 648 "objects" (if I understand this right at least). With 27 slots to chose, you use 648 as N, and 27 as R.  Doing it again, I got a different answer, but it's bigger. So... take that for what you will.

I see, and that's not even counting the position/rotation of the letters and that one letter can have multiple colors!

My Faithful Pale Horse

Incredibly cute game. Great customization. I love the idea of dipping letters in paint.

Developer(+1)

That is a very pale pale horse, awesome! Thanks for playing

The game is awesome, it gives off such an amazing vibe! I love the way the contents wobble, the dip into paint, and the story writing animations. They were all super smooth. Overall, it’s a really cool game

Developer

Thanks for playing!

A very unique and interesting idea, both the artstyle and soundtrack gave off a huge vibe! The way you can just let your imagination bloom and make your hero just from letters is tons of fun, honestly great job!!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words :D

It was quite  unique.

Glad you seem to have used it! Many people just color the full letter

Submitted

it is an excellent idea they are literally characters :)

Developer

Thanks!

I really liked messing with the letters to create the character.

Well done, this is a lot of fun.

Developer

Stacking them like that certainly makes for some interesting combinations, thanks for playing!

Very Unique character creation! not just in one way either! Using letters to create the characters and objects Brilliant! Dipping the letters to choose how you want to color each letter in a more immersive way Genius! Had lots of Fun. Great Job!:)

Thank you!

I haven't come close to playing all the entries but I think this has a good chance of being in the top spot. I like the interpretation of the theme by making characters out of characters. Then dipping them in paint is a really fun way of changing colours and such a great idea, especially as you can layer the letters with different colours to make stripes and be able to resize, rotate and clone them too, awesome!

Developer(+1)

Thank you lots for all the kind words!

Very unique and fun take on the theme well done! Only issue I encounters was that the letter M didnt fit in the paint, but I could just turn it so nothing big.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah I made a mistake when I clamp all the letters so you don't accidentally push them outside the window. I noticed it too but as you said it's not that big of a deal

What a silly and fun idea. Probably one of the more unique entries here. It would have been funny to run and fight with the character, but way out of scope for this round. Fantastic job.

Developer

Thank you! We'll see what sort of "real" gameplay I could make from this :D

What a game! Really interesting idea built to perfection. Loved the way that characters can be resized and modified---the two resize options gives different styles of the letter, which is a clever addition.

Very interactive system built---with almost infinite possibilities. Enjoyed the colour dipping process: It makes the colour modification so much more lively. Definitely one of the most enjoyable that I have seen so far.

Great job:)

(Here's one of my playthroughs where I made everything horses)

Developer(+1)

Thank you! That's three beautiful horses for sure. Did you ever take advantage of how you can color a part of a letter one color with the rest another? For example making the bottom of the horse legs gray for hooves while the rest is brown? (Making hands on the character this way is another idea)

Oh wait... I knew about this mechanic from your prototype on the server but never remembered to use it, haha. It was a great idea(Although I don't know how it works), and I will definitely try the mechanic later. Nonetheless, safe to say that you are currently at the top of my ranking:)

Wow this was so creative, how did you even come up with this? xD

Super cool, I really enjoyed it! :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you! It took quite some pondering

This is not only the best game of this round, this is also one of the best jam games I've ever played on this site? Just like, wow, I'm wordless.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! No wonder you're wordless, you used them all up in the game. Nah but seriously tho, thank you! I do jam games multiple times a year so feel free to follow if you wanna see more ;)

Well well, maybe I will :D

Behold the holy weapon:

Such a unique concept, and so polished, had so much fun! The paint dipping was some magical Godot wizardry!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I got the idea for paint dipping and I knew I at least had to try and implement it, I'm really hapy with how it turned out!
