What a nice cozy game. I liked everything about it. All I wanted was simply more! Graphics are spot on, achievements are funny (rip Jerry), music and sound effects fit perfectly, and cat animations are really well done.
Very cute game! Loved the laser pointer controls. <3
The fact that you have to use the box to turn on the lights was very clever. I'm guessing that the achievement with the moon was to finish that last room without turning the lights on, that's a cool touch!
Overall really good submission, loved it! :D
Thank you for the feedback!
The moon was actually about turning off a light switch. We were also thinking about creating an achievement for finishing the final room without turning on the light, but we ran out of time before implementing it.
Mouse cursor as a laser pointer was so funny :') Love the art and concept of filling the boxes to use for progression but I did find the balls and box would sometimes get stuck in corners and I couldn't get them out!
Congrats and great work!
A fun and cozy adventure!
The game has enough catty feedback, audio and animation to build immersion and have the player well in the cats world.
I spent way too long staring at the start screen before moving forward to main menu. Having a hover effect on the paw might’ve helped my daftness.
Cute art! The box was a little jitter might need physics interpolation for it. I could not find what the ambient noise slider was for but was happy none the less for a sound effects and music slider! The sound design is great and makes the player aware of what they are interacting with. I started moving the box instead of the balls because the balls kept getting behind the wall sprite :p
charming art and great narrative! Movement system pretty creative.
Well done and congratulations on your submission!
I really like the idea of a cat filling a box with balls to unlock doors. The cat have some great interactions with the environment and is well animated. Also, it’s a nice touch that you move the cat using a laser pointer.
I managed to get the box stuck in a wall in the first room and a lot of the times, when balls are next to a wall or object, it’s difficult to move them out.
Great submission, good job!
I love the idea of controlling the cat with the laser pointer! I thought it was fun to watch the cat interact with the blue balls (and Jerry RIP), and I would love to see more interaction of the cat with the environment (plants on the floor?). Great submission!
This is such a cute game!! IDK why but I was surprised by what happened when the cat met Jerry 🥺
There's something very nostalgic about this game to me but I can't pinpoint why or what makes it feel that way. The idea of using a laser pointer to maneuver the cat around is hilarious. Really great work and a solid entry!
Rest in peace Jerry!!!
Sometimes the box can get stuck in a wall, also it took me some time to figure out that the small blue dots needed to be put in the cardboard box so I could push it toward the door and reach the door.
I like the style of the controls and the way the cat animates when moving over objects like the bed. Very cute experience and I like the completion goal of the achievements being presented at the start. Wonderful little game of discovery and cleaning up, nice work!
This was hella adorable, laser pointer for movement was very creative. Cat movement was fluid and I like how you programmed all these neat little interactions.
I did get soft locked on my first attempt but it's not a very long game so it wasn't too much of an issue, the trash can end up in a impossible space where you can't get it out and the box can't reach, I got one stuck in a cat tree and in the second room and had to reset.
RIP Jerry
This was a cute and cozy little game. Using a laser pointer to control the cat was a clever mechanic. I enjoyed watching the cat move; you did a good job with the animations.
I didn’t realize at first that I could move the balls around, so in the first room I ended up moving the box to them. It wasn’t until I reached 100% on the first box that I moved a ball and laughed that it took me so long to figure it out. You may want to have an arrow pointing to the ball closest to the box in the first room, as well as one pointing to the box, to help new players acknowledge that they are important and things you need to interact with.
I liked that you could turn the lights on and off. I really wanted to knock more things to the floor. Having things on tables and such helped make the space feel lived in and like a real home, and I totally got that they were meant as set dressing. But the “I’m a cat and I want all the things on the floor!” impulse was strong. I also think it would have been nice if I could have jumped down from higher surfaces, even if I needed to use steps or ramps to get up them. I understood the decision from a gameplay point of view, but from a cat point of view not being able to jump down pulled me a little out of character.
Some of the text was hard to read, particularly the credits at the end of the game. The white text was nearly invisible against the light background in much of the kitchen, and I only acknowledged the text because it scrolled through a darker section.
I liked that there was a simple objective to the game. I also liked that I had fun being able to just move the laser pointer around to watch the cat run and play. The achievements were also fun and I enjoyed trying to get them all.
A second arrow would really help. Noted.
We even planned for most assets to be breakable, but we just ran out of time.
Thank you for your evaluation and comment! Much appreciated!
Very cute, the laser pointer for moving around was so clever. I loved the concept of this
very cleaver, enjoyable and cute cozy game
great work on this submission
I agree a lot with what others have said. The cat + laser pointer idea is a perfect fit for physical comedy and fun. Great execution on the idea. Once I figured out how to progress out of the first room, it was smooth sailing. If you choose to iterate on this game more after the jam, I would love to see even more silly cat interactions! Awesome submission
Really loved the art and the idea of leading a cat around with a laser pointer. Unfortunately I couldn't get out of the first room. The cat animation was really good. Nice work!
Cozy game. No real goal, no blinking arrow. Just pure exploration that drives you forward. And it works pretty well.
And the movement by following a laser pointer? Super clever idea. :-)
Loved the cats animation, it was a bit hard to understand what I had to do first, a description might help. But after some trying I got it and it was lovely!
very cute game with a very unique concept! while it could use some polishing, i really enjoy the core gameplay loop of pushing around objects to gain access to switches that give access to even more objects. the animations are very cat-like and i have to say the laser pointer as a control mechanism is VERY creative, i love it :3
also, i just love cats sdhsdkjhsk. would love to see a full version of this game at some point!
