I really liked the idea and sound effects. Similar to some other people I would have enjoyed more active gameplay. It took me a bit to recognize what each part of the ship was and saw some go from upgraded to back to green which confused me if that still counted as the ship piece was the same or not. The sound of reaching the home planet made the end feel really satisfying.

That's a really nice concept. Very FTL-like. The flavor text of the events was also very nice. Graphics look nice, but there's the odd menu overlap. Not an issue.

I think what the game needs is a few more systems to work with. I did a few playthroughs (one on medium, the rest on hard) and it was just too easy. Still, for the purpose of the game jam this is a really good entry. Well done.

Your banner image is very eye-catching and I love what you did with the rotating pixilated planets. The hard mode was pretty easy. I like the polish and theme in the game but the game loop itself could use something more interactive such as putting the fires out by clicking, playing a game to reboot systems, or guiding the ship through the asteroid field with engine score making it harder/easier. Nice entry!

ohhh these are some good ideas for a future update

Neat! I love these kinds of games. I feel like it might have been too easy. I found that, no matter how difficulty I made it, I could usually just choose the "no effect" option as many times as possible to win. Still, I love the atmosphere and feel.

Cool :)

short but sweet! reminds me of ftl in some aspects. i feel like this game could've been more challenging with generally a little less systems to account for, because i think as it stands it might be a little too easy to accomplish the goal, at least on medium difficulty. the planet graphic is really neat

Love the art and music! I almost failed at the end since my science was at zero but was fortunately able to repurpose the shields.

Things I liked:

  • SFX , Music, and Master Slider all work!
  • Being able to customize the colors to my liking.
  • UI element showing what got hit
  • SFX for taking damage
  • Music fitting a lost in space vibe
  • Font is giving off a space vibe as well
  • The red and blue planet logo looks sick af!

Critiques:

  • I wish the settings menu was accessible during gameplay and the full screen option was hidden in there.

Really nice concept of taking risk in journey. Art and music is really cool and match well.

Congratulations on your submission!
