Cute art overall, I like the animal themes. I think a couple things that was missing aside from a little audio feedback was a good visual feedback of incrementing - if I wasn't hovering over a shiny when the game 'ticked' it wouldn't pick up, even if i was there for a little bit, i felt like having more skill at the game wuoldn't really let me get much more by way of shinies. Also, there should probably be a slightly better boundary where the shinies/pickups can spawn, they could occasionally spawn halfway (or maybe fully) under the ui on the left hand side.
Great job overall!

I liked it, the art is really great with the only issue being inconsistent pixel sizes and blurred ingredient sprites, too bad there is no audio, a simple sound effect for collecting items would've been really nice even if it was just that.
The potion making is quite interesting as i enjoy alchemy related stuff, but it has a few issues like no feedback when selecting an ingredient or the UI displaying the wrong amount of ingredients.
The skill tree is also cool and i really liked the hidden perks after chaining some paths, but the cursor size upgrades could use some visual feedback.
And the shop was nice in the beginning but after a few upgrades it becomes quite redundant.
Overall i enjoyed the game, i'm just sad i couldn't unlock all the upgrades before the game ended😭
Thanks for the feedback!
Music and SFX are definitely at the top of the to-do list if we decide to keep working on it :D
Completely agree on the issues with the potion making, its also something we really wanted to fix but ran out of time, as you do in a game jam.
The cursor size is a bug, it should get bigger visually as well but doesn't and I didn't have time to fix it x)
Agreed on the shop becoming quickly redundant, we brainstormed ways to keep it relevant but ran out of time so we couldn't try any of them. I was considering something like special deals were you can get upgrade materials cheaply or something, not sure what would have worked best.
Hahah happy to hear that! The ending was maybe a bit too easy to reach, it was added at the last minute so we didnt have time to playtest it ^^
Really good work on upgrade tree and UI elements, looks nice.
I found all potion recipes, that was interesting, i like that mechanic in games. Maybe if you add more recipes and simple mini-game for mix potions, that will be more funnier.
Btw I wanted to suggest do recipe book more functional by adding ability to use recipe by clicking on it.
Found 2 little bugs.
1. I spent all ingredients on first day and after second day ended the ingredient counter in inventory didnt update, but anyways i had ability to mix potions.
2. When i bought missing ingredient in the shop, i could not spent it on mixing potion, but also counter with ingredient updated after it was bought.
I really like you visual style, the gameplay feels like cookie clicker with more interesting upgrades. Thank you for done job!
Thank you so much for the feedback and kind words!
More recipes are definitely something we want to add, and mini-game is something we're considering as well.
The idea of clicking recipes to auto-fill I hadn't thought of, but it is a really clever idea!
Thanks for the mini-bugreports as well, we will probably keep working on this so it helps a lot ^^
The art is amazing! I do think there's issues with the rendering of textures where some of them have bilinear filtering and others are nearest. There's also "mixels" which is where some textures/objects have different resolutions and sizes to others, because it isn't on a defined pixel grid.
I think this game would have been WAYYY easier to make in Godot. Just my opinion. Godot is so much better for making 2d pixel art games (see mine hehe).
I think the lack of player feedback and "juice" (satisfying effects) makes this hard to play without getting bored.
The potion mechanics are awesome and the upgrade tree is a fantastic addition as well.
I have no idea if I have selected something in my inventory or not (no highlight on the selected tile). Makes it a bit annoying.
Great work! If this is your first game you did an AMAZING job. Audio/music would have been nice.
Good luck on your gamedev journey! Love your work so far <3
Thank you so much for the detailed message, it's very appreciated!!
This was our first time working with pixel art so I'm unfortunately unfamiliar with the terms you mentioned but I will look them up and try to fix them, thanks a lot for pointing them out!
I've been interested in trying Godot, I think what's making it feel a bit daunting is learning GDScript, but I definitely want to give it a proper try sometime.
Completely agree on the missing juice and feedback, as well as the lack of SFX and music. It's something we were aware of but ran out of time to fix, we will probably go back and add it after the review period is over ^^
Good luck to you as well, and thank you so much for the kind words <3
Love the visual & concept. The code is a bit clunky, no feedbacks on interacting making it quite confusing at first, but I got it after a while.
Love the recipe exploration! Nice!
Thank you so much for playing and foe the kind words! Completely agree on the feedback, it was on the to do list but we ran out of time ^^
