I really enjoyed this game. The theme of the illusion of safety is fully revealed and hits hard.
The story of a character with a black belt in karate being killed in a park is a strong reminder that skills and titles don’t guarantee real safety.
After playing, I felt this message very clearly: confidence can be dangerous when it turns into complacency.
Personally, I always carry pepper spray and never rely only on my yellow belt.
This game doesn’t just entertain. It makes you think, and that’s its biggest strength.

Really great message! The game was pretty short and I am not quite sure how it relates to the theme.  I would have liked to see even more scenarios where you could show that strength is an illusion of safety. Good job with this game. 3D isn't easy

Enjoyed:

- I really liked the time sound effects

- The heavy shadows added a nice air of  mystery to everything, making you wary

- I'm not a big horror fan, so this could just be me, but the intro scene was terrifying-lots of shadows and loud noises

- I liked the implementation of the object and theme! It ties nice for a very short story

Could Improve:

- I'd like to be able to look around in the walking section

- More choices could be nice, give the illusion of control over the character and your safety

- Ability to walk backwards, or look behind yourself would add a sense of fear

Ideas (optional, just some things that might be cool!):

- Perhaps if walking backwards doesn't work well implementation wise because of the sound ques, you could have the character automatically walking, with the player able to speed up the walking speed/look around? Would emphasize the fear aspect, possibly.

What I loved:
-pretty impressive with no game dev and coding experience, keep on makin!
-loved the artstyle
- loved the use of sounds when walking home, the running up sound spooked me a little
-I loved that the special object was a black belt
What I liked:
- controls were easy to pickup because of the instructions
- the stage area where you are surrounded by people and the people started cheering was amazing
- wish there was more detail in the environments considering the length of the game
Needs Improvement:
- I didn't really like how you integrated the theme
- the player footstep sound effect needs to be quieter
- no gameplay more of a interactive story

Finished the Game!

Bugs and Other:

Hi, thank you! Not sure what exact problem you are experiencing, but probably you need to click on ''What the Belt Can't Do's itch.io page'' under Play game title and proceed to the game page, there will be a game window there. In case something is still wrong -> I'm leaving a link https://evelibyid.itch.io/what-the-belt-cant-do :)

no i meant i really liked the idea that you are showing that strength isnt once you get a sign for it but its earned through years of hard and lang training, but its not really a game, but it might count as a simulator game, but pretty good job at showing the vibes it felt really creepy at street
