There are some cool time mechanics here but I think it wasn't showcased as much because its possible to clear the levels with platforming skills.
Good game, pretty accessible too!!
While most of the stages were easy, there were a few ones that really showed the potential of your gameplay.
Good graphics, good concept and excellent implementations.
Congratulations ^__^
This game was really fun! One thing I would like to add is that since you're going to the work of tracking the character movement while reversing time, it would be cool if it could interact with the world somehow and contribute to puzzle solutions. Ex lets say you could push a clock into your character's previous path, then collect it on the time rewind. Overall really cool tech and mechanics!
Nice game! i don't think i have anything i could say that hasn't already been said, but i will say this, i think it would have been cool to have some secrets only reachable if you use the extra time from the clocks, as it is the time bounus really doesn't do anything as you typcialy need to reset time anyway (Maybe add a Clock token that remains to still gain the time bonus? I donno) But other then that, pretty funn still, good job obn making something for the jam!
I like how you applied the concept of "time only moves when you move" and looping the level multiple times to set it up for a final successful run (or to collect all clocks)
I really like what you did with the volume sliders!! Neat detail!
I wish there was a special ending after collecing all the clocks. Some required some planning ahead to collect as well as some luck with the jumps.
Some improvement suggestions:
- Tutorial texts looked a bit blurry. I think it's because there's not enough contrast between the face color and the drop shadow.
- Some levels matching open walls on opposite sides of the screen, giving the impression they're connected. However, going that way actually counts as going off the map.
- The jump height was a inconsistent. Sometimes holding the jump button for a long time would not trigger a maximum height jump. This means reattempting a jump multiple times, eating away precious seconds. After some experimenting, it seems that every 2nd jump is be limited to a lower height. If it's intended, the player should be made aware somehow. I played on web, maybe that's why?
Good game! I hope you can add some more polish after the jam!
Thanks for playing and:
1. The game was suppose to have two endings but unfortunatly i didn't have time to add them.
2. I noticed that some players had the same idea, that matching openings in the walls on the sides would "teleport" them to the other side, i will definitly fix that problem (by re-making levels and thinking while doing so)
3. The height issue seems to be caused by Web version. I already looked into that. unfortunatly i wasn't able to find the core issue, but i'm still trying to find it and fix it. The desktop version (Windows) does not have that problem tho.
:D
I saw this concept in the DC! Really was fun! And the fact that time will run when you're on the move is absolutely genius!
Really like the idea here!
And you managed to tie in the optional objectives into the core mechanic too, which is really impressive!
I really like that collecting all of the clocks will sometimes require you to purposely fail the level to revert back to the start after changing the environment.
I will say, I had minimal trouble collecting them all except for level 5, for some reason it took me like 15 minutes to get the clock on the far right - for whatever reason making that jump felt really precise compared to pretty much every other jump in the game. Maybe it was just an issue on my end though.
There's a lot of little touches here, like the full clear icons for each stage, and the music properly rewinding when the level does - things that you wouldn't normally expect a jam submission to have.
Really like the art style, and the fact that the title screen is also pixelated to match the rest of the pixel art.
Would be awesome to see this expanded into a full release after the jam is over. Great work!
I totally dig the idea, but it feels a touch undercooked. I do get where you were going though, and I would love to see this concept really fleshed out. Like as of now, losing time just causes a reset, but nothing really is at stake, nor is there real motivation to collect the clocks; I'm interested what you had in mind. Either way this was a solid build that I did enjoy. The Kronii sprite animation is silk.
Incredible platformer, fun core mechanics that totally have to be expanded upon! The flare is amazing, love the clock animations, very fluid and satisfying to watch! Even the audio sliders are little clocks haha, wonderful idea to play with the theme of the game! The art is beautiful, love the little Kronii. All the sound effects and the music are amazing, really set the atmosphere! The puzzles are very impressive as well, they make you think outside the box to try and get all the collectibles. Very enjoyable to crack each one and find a solution!
Bonus points for accessibility options in the settings, I know not everyone appreciates it or even notices but I see you. Even if the game is unfinished, including things like that goes a long way!
A very solid platformer and I didn't hit any issues when collecting all the clocks. I liked the bit style for the art and the music and can definitely see more content and mechanics being made for this.
Obviously content calls for more time in the oven than jams allows, but the base is off to a great start.
Plays as smoothly as any platformer can. Basic level set that’s already fit enough for speedrunning.
Thanks for playing and yeah, i wanted to add more stuff but didn't have time. But i will try to add them after the jam ends. (also, you accidentaly posted this comment twice)
:D
I got all the clocks but nothing special happened.
Yes, this is to be expected as this JAM version of the game DOES NOT have endings nor animations that I wanted to add.
Still I'm happy you full cleared all levels!
:D
Very nice idea for the mechanic, I really enjoyed playing it! I finished the game but did not manage to fully max it out with collecting all clocks (unless it was sometimes impossible, but I assume Green mark is for "fully cleared" and blue for just finished). The music really fit the speed and rewind vibe of the game <3 And the rewind mechanic itself was very satisfying to watch and use. I would play around more with that rewind, like going somewhere to push a button that unlocks another passage etc. etc.
All clocks are possible to get! Unless Web version is very unstable. But on desktop (Windows) it is definitely possible! Also, thanks for playing and happy you liked it!
:D
<3 very addicting and cute:D good job<3
Thanks! I'm happy you think so!
:D
Very cool puzzle platformer! I really liked the time resetting mechanic, it makes for some very cool puzzles, also shameless plug, I also made a time manipulating puzzle platformer with timeless on it's name lol
