Nice concept! I liked the music and cute pixel art, and the transition was very cool! It felt a bit buggy though, part of the map was showing outside of the dark frame, the attack controls didn't work sometimes and I encountered a bug where I got trapped in the walls, so didn't end up finishing the game, but the first part of it was fun! I liked the puzzle with the lantern in particular. I thought the audio was a bit too loud, and it would have been really nice to be able to restart from the last outpost you visiting instead of being sent right back to the beginning, losing all your progress and having to play through the same section again felt frustrating. But good job overall, it's a cool concept with some neat mechanics!

Very interesting! I'm not sure if i had the intended visual experience. I have a 4k monitor and the darkness didn't extend all the way to the edges. A world of light always out of reach.
The light puzzles were very cool! A simple yet effective mechanic like that is always fun to build upon and see where it goes.
I didn't really feel that the monster's were additive to the experience but that might just be me.
Good job!
Really liked that art, and sound design in this game. You did a great job with those. I love all the character designs as well, especially the whispergoos. They looked so interesting and really stood out. I also thought the transition was very creative! Super dynamic and eye catching! The idea with the light-based puzzles was really cool as well, and I especially liked that first one. It felt challenging at first, but once you get the hang of it, you can do it pretty quickly on repeat trips out to outpost 1.
Unfortunately, I encountered a slew of bugs that prevented me from finishing the game properly. Enemies can knock you into walls and get you stuck in certain areas, doors often don't open when you interact with them, and I wasn't able to interact with the signs. Specifically for puzzle 2, I was able to read every hint except for the sign shaped one, which I assume had the actual puzzle instructions. I ended up having to pull an enemy from earlier in the level over so it could kick me through the wall to outpost 2 so I could continue the story even if I wasn't able to solve the puzzle. I had the same issue with the outpost 3 sign, but I eventually hit the right switches and got to continue.
But I really like the concept of this game. It has a lot of potential. I think you did a great job on this overall!
some feedback for enhanced polish:
- disable character actions when interacting with dialogue and menu, right now the player swings their weapon ever time you click anywhere and the sfx gets a bit annoying
- in game instruction text is a cool idea! right now it says "right click to attack" so i think thats a typo
- sfx when you get hit by an enemy is way too loud
cute idea, i like the lighting mechanic and the concept is neat
Unfortunately I don't think we're going to expand this one. This is my third ever game and our other team members are not extremely advanced coders either, although they do have more experience than me. So this particular project will not be continued, but we may make something similar once we've had more experience, because it is a more advanced comcept. Thanks for playing!
hey you know what? That’s totally okay, these game jams are about having a structured experimentation schedule and learning experience. It’s all about challenging yourself and being able to create in passionate bursts - and it sounds to me like you all had an extremely successful jam in that regard!
The visuals are quite good, and the transition is... powerful XD , but the difficulty feels a bit high. Dying sends you back to the starting point, so having a built-in checkpoint that starts from the last package delivery location would make the experience more enjoyable in my opinion.
The game concept itself seems to be really nice, but i couldnt even get to the 2nd outpost. When the enemies hit me in the labyrinth i got pushed away to the outside of the labyrinth at some point? Also, one enemy just trapped me and I couldnt get around him XD The art and the music is really nice, but Im not a fan of the sound design. I got jumpscared by that transition sound and the hit sound every time because they are soooo loud XD I teleported to outpost 2 because I wanted to keep playing, but then I couldnt attack anymore and there was no way to go. Not sure if you have to go left there but i couldnt open the gate? So I teleported to outpost 3 where I couldnt do anything then beside walking in a small box XD
Outpost Express is supposed to be hard, but I suppose the map design could've been better. The hit and transition sounds are supposed to be surprising because it is a borderline horror game. The knockback is set a little too high on my end so I'll see if I can fix that for the future!
Anyway thanks for playing!
The music is really good! The screen transition caught me by surprise, really fun.
