Interesting and fresh! Not very cozy, but I would play more of that
Simple idea but very effective. I loved the little guy's "Ok I'm good to go" anmation at the beginning! So charming! I hope you'll keep adding levels because once I cleaned the first one I was left wanting more!
Hey! This was a... much different game than I expected. The running animation was really cool, I felt like I was in an anime. I really enjoyed the unlimited lives and timer on a fuse mechanic, I think that was quite a unique idea. I was not able to get the waypoint on the tower, the other penguins really did not want me on that tower. I would maybe suggest slowing down the other penguins a little bit to give the player a better chance, otherwise it was a neat experience!
Great job on your submission!
Charming game! There's for sure an interesting concept here. First off the character design and animations are very nice, I like how the character waves at the camera at the start of the round, super charming. Avoiding the enemy penguins is pretty fun too and I love how they slide after you lol. I think the game could be shorter, it does feel like the destroyable blocks are a bit unnecessary but I like the idea. The ice physics were a little hard to deal with but nothing extreme. Gaining a longer fuse each death is a very cool idea as well, and visually it looks very cool. Overall quite fun! Good job!
the idea with the blocks is something else to destroy and a way to open up alternate paths in a level. For the jam I ended up with a single level with most of the ideas I had time to implement, adapted from a test level and made more playable. In a full game I think a level that size would be a later level or spilt into three smaller levels. Spawning in a more central location would probably help, but I wanted to include at least a brief tutorial.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I definitely see the vision, I do think shortcuts (and deciding to not take shortcuts) could use more decision making, maybe having the levels on a timer so you have to make riskier decisions could stop you from just making a super safe route as the time needed to explode/create the route would be slower than just taking the long way initially. Agree with spawning in the center but yeah the tutorial was nice! I do think there's a lot of cool ideas you could do with should you want to make it a full game!
Great game with really fun movment even if i suck at it
It ended up being pretty fast. really wanted to get controller support fully implemented as I think it feels better for this type of movement, but didn't get the camera control to work in time.
Thanks for playing!
Why would you do that to cute penguins :C
Jokes aside, the penguin animations are adorable, and the level design and objectives are very clear.
But it took me a while to make the player penguin explode .
uh, it's a retaliatory strike :|
Thanks for playing!
Love the character design and animations! Really fun concept and creative implementation of the optional limitation of the game getting easier with mistakes
Glad you liked it. The fuse can get pretty long before reaching its limit, though I don't expect anyone to spend the time to get to it during the jam
Hilarious character design and awesome models! The core idea is fun and the player's penguin is great and expressive. As lovely as the animations were, I did find them to be a little too long at places and as a result they disengaged me from the bombing experience. Even still — so cool!
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it! I think if I were to flesh it out more, subsequent drops would use a different or shorter animation. I did speed up some of the transitions when uploading the bug fix. Still not perfect, but less tedious at least
