loved the pitch, and the mechanics were nice puzzle mechanics, obviously not a puzzle game I would say but also just kinda frustrating with the amount of timings you gotta do, the enemy penguins aren’t really like solid pattern left right left right exact deterministic timings. This game is more like asteroids where you got a thousand penguins all going in different directions without a care for each other. I got to the level that’s just a bunch of vertical lines, then gave up cause, I’m not dealing with that. Someone else can move those stones if they need to be moved. Not my problem.

maybe I just didn’t give this game a fair shot though. I sound a lot frustraigted than I actually am, in reality it just got boring quick for me, though I never really like puzzle games idk if you classify this as one but my brain looks at it and says puzzle game.

Were you using the other stones as bridges? The intention is to be strategic with those rather than trying to arcade it across.

Hey! I was able to play with my controller smoothly, so props for having that. I wish there was a full screen mode as it was hard to see things on my big screen in the little window. The game overall was really cute and the puzzle-ish vibe was fun. Great work!

Thanks for playing!

If you press escape/start then it brings up the TIC-80 menu and you can choose fullscreen there.

Fun puzzle game! The concept is cute and I really enjoyed the mechanic of placing stones to block the penguins! The music did get a bit repetitive after a while, and it was a bit tricky to distinguish the player character at times from the other penguins because they look very similar, but aside from that I enjoyed it! It was very satisfying getting my rocks to safety! Great work!

Developer

Thanks!  Yeah I added the green arrow above the player to help distinguish, but it's not perfect.

I get that creating a different sprite for the player would have added a lot more work, so it makes sense why you went with the arrow, it did help

Really fun and unique puzzle game.

I really liked the way you could get a feel for the timing of the penguins walking, and even synchronize them, it was honestly kind of mesmerizing. I especially liked this aspect in level 6. It felt so good to dash through the penguin highway and make it to the other end with your stone still intact.

Great stuff!

Thanks!  Yeah I carefully chose hitbox sizes such that sometimes if you're very careful you can actually yolo with the rock and not get knocked down.

This is fun, I like the mechanic of blocking penguins with the stones, and the visuals are really nice! My main crit is that the music gets a bit grating after a while, but all the other sfx work well. Thanks for sharing your game!

Developer(+1)

That's fair, I didn't spend as much time on the music as I did with my last jam entry.  Glad you liked the game!

Solid puzzle game, every time I passed the stage, I tried to see what the pattern on the transition screen was trying to say. I only got two stars in one level but three stars for the rest. Good game.

For anyone playing with a keyboard, the keys you need are Z and X
