Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarize your game!
Manage an alien run game show, schedule events, tweak the music, and manipulate human contestants for maximum ratings. And try to keep them (mostly) sane.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
The Game Show is being broadcasted to all human colonies. You play both behind the scenes, and then live during the show.

Did you use Generative AI to make any assets in your game?
No

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
How does it look? I've been trying to wrap my head around shaders. Is the project too weird? I grew numb to it, I don't even know if it's fun.

Host(+2)

Playability:
Very easy to understand with interesting writing, characters, and gameplay direction. Really enjoyed this.

Theme:
Fits the theme well as it's about watching the subject and having all of humanity join in to improve their morale. Smart way to handle this and it could be expanded later.

Cleverness:
Very unique game and something you should be proud of. Keep developing this.

Artistic Style:
Art style stays consistent throughout. Feels almost retro-futuristic with the style of the alien somehow. You've done a good job with this.

Developer

Oh snap, you caught me off guard! I’m really glad the theme and direction landed well, it truly means a lot coming from you. Thanks for running the jam and for the thoughtful feedback!

First of all: this project isn't too weird at all! The art is done very well and I had a lot of fun trying to figure out which combinations go well with each other. It feels like a lot of fun and honestly if you wanted to add more variances and make it bigger with different daily/show requirements that would be cool as well.  The host text was a fun read and your animations for the different rooms and tasks were so fun. Keep up the good work and always be a little weird.

Actually, I just read your GDD. Thumbs up for your plans. It'll be very cool to see your full vision.

Developer(+1)

That really means a lot, thanks! I’m glad the weird landed well and that the combinations were fun to play around with. And thanks for taking the time to read the GDD too, that’s really cool of you. Appreciate the encouragement!

Flavorful vibe, narrative, and presentation! Even though the possible combinations of player choices might get exhausted pretty quickly, this project feels more like a presentation of an interesting concept. It's special.

Developer

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it! It was definitely built as a concept-first project, so I’d love to return to it in the near future. Thanks for playing!

I liked the flavor and the overall idea, felt pretty well polished for a final submission but I personally wasn't that engaged by the gameplay. The writing was pretty funny and solid though. I think in this case it's a disconnect for me since I'm much more gameplay oriented and there wasn't all that much interaction points or "juice" for the game.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I do enjoy writing, so I’m glad the presentation and humor worked for you, even if the gameplay wasn’t quite your thing. Appreciate you giving it a shot.

The host only welcomes bipedal, i felt excluded as a forty tentacle cephalopod. Interesting game though. I just with there were some more options for interactions

Developer

The Cephalopod Show wasn’t pulling the ratings we wanted, sorry. Glad you enjoyed it though! I was burning to add more content, but time was fleeting. The ideas are definitely there.

I definitely like dungeon-maker games. It was hard to figure out exactly which music to pick... some didn't seem to make sense. But I think you can flesh this out and have more cool stuff to fill out a dungeon with. And add pointers for the rating system. solid.

Developer

Glad you gave it a try! There’s definitely room to improve things like clarity and feedback, but I’m happy the format showed some potential. Thanks for the feedback and for playing!

Didn't expect a kind of dungeon keeper game, pretty neat.  Seemed pretty complete as far as assets and gameplay goes.

Developer(+1)

Haha, that’s spot on. I didn’t even consider Dungeon Keeper while making this, but it definitely fits in hindsight and gives me some ideas. Glad it came across as complete, thanks for playing!
