The graphics were nice, though I often found that changing direction did not actually change the sprites orientation, so I found myself attacking in the wrong direction. Very cute sprites.
Looks cute, really nice for a first game jam :) Also cool idea with the weather
Movement and attacks feel a bit off though :D
I love the art style and animations! Very nice work. I hope you keep working on it.
Congrats on your first game and first jam! That's a big achievement in itself! This plays a little more like a hack-and-slash than a roguelike, but I like your idea to have environmental effects to add challenge to gameplay and add a little variation from room to room. Coming up with cool ideas that are add something little different to gameplay is exactly how to think about how to do something new that will help people get interested in your game. Keep at it!
It’s quite different from what I expected. It is not grid based nor turn based. I would also prefer to see the paths between rooms. I liked the graphics and the animations.
I like that you can estimate the distance to attack the enemies very well, so spatial awareness is involved. It was also a nice touch that the boss was telegraphing his attacks. A grid based approach would be more fitting for this jam I think.
