Use of the limitation
There are only 2 colors of suits in a card deck, so it fit to make a card game.

Cookies eaten
Do you count natures bakery fig bar? Theres 2 of those per pack, so i had 4 or 6. Per day. So lets say 16.

My friend. Thanks for the game. Wonderful Solitaire game. The use of the limitation didn't take away how wonderful the game looked. Very well done. :)

Fun little Solitaire game, it's a tried and tested formula that fits the limitation of the jam nicely. The wizard was a nice little touch, I didn't find him as distracting as other players since his dialogue wasn't actually necessary to read. Very nice presentation too, I especially liked that you had multiple tutorials available, depending on how you preferred to learn.

So I was reading the instructions because every card game tends to be different, and as I was reading I was like "oh, sort of like solitaire... ah, just like solitaire...oh, also like solitaire... wait, this is solitaire!" It's a good solitaire clone.

I have to agree with other players, the wizard is a bit distracting (and annoying to be honest), when you play a card game you tend to focus on the cards, not reading a text every 15 seconds, it takes you out of the immersion of a card game. It's a good touch, and it's well made (good graphics) but it can probably be added in a different way, maybe to the side of the screen, or maybe at the end if you win, not during the match interrupting every time you draw to tell you something irrelevant to what you're doing, or maybe add an option to hide them.

Other than that, it's a decent solitaire clone, good job!

Thanks!  I know what you mean with the wizard dude.  I will see what I can come up with.  Any other ideas to fix him?

I really like your concept, and the art style in the game is great

Developer

Loved your cat animations!

Very nice game, looks great! I love solitaire. Spent a while thinking about how the cards stack differently. Art is really good, and I probably spent the longest on this one out of all of the jam games I've played. Maybe you could do a few more modes that introduce more new things.

A really like this new spin on Klondike! Having the wizard take up the screen after every move made it hard to get into the flow for me, maybe having him on the side would make it easier to play quickly. I will definitely be playing this more after the jam is over haha

Developer

I'll see what I can do about that.

Very cool! Looks great, was kinda confused after tutorial even though I've played solitaire, but once I started playing I got it relatively quickly. Main criticism is the suit icons are way too tiny on desktop. It's important gameplay info and I need to strain my eyes a lot to see it. Otherwise great job, I'd play this if the balance felt decent ( I didn't play long enough to find out).

Developer

Yea I made the clubs/diamonds have the outline only so they aren't filled in like the hearts/spades to help with that.

Maybe I can add some color options to make it easier or something.

This reminded me of the old solitaire game from Windows XP.

Surprisingly easy to learn, considering I don't quite remember how Solitaire plays.
Double clicking any card will instantly place them on the Kingdom, even if it is "buried" under a pile of cards, probably a bug?
Legit beating the game took me ~5 minutes, using the "bug" and just drawing the whole deck then double clicking cards in order took me ~1:45.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

ah crap!  thanks.  definitely a bug.  This is what happens when you add last minute features.

fixed this

Yo, nice little game. Took me two tries to beat it. I liked the music and the visuals—if this could be installed as a mod for Solitaire, I would definitely do it :)

I LIKE THIS GAME!!!! design is cool and presentation too!!!

Very sleek and professional UI - Starts to get a bit crowded after a while though!

So a variation of Solitaire with a deck to pick from, and with existential quotes! I wish the quotes would stay onscreen somewhere permanently, because I want to think about them but then they're gone.

“Your hesitation changes nothing, only the timing” Does this not imply that it’s not inevitable then? Surely hesitation wouldn’t change anything because that’s the way it was always going to be.

Thank you so much for all the suggestions on my entry! I really appreciate them

dang!  thanks for the UI screenshot, never tested that properly D:

As for the quote, I suppose you're right.  The discard IS supposed to represent the flow of destiny.  Perhaps the harbinger of destiny is aware you are attempting to subvert him in some way.

But that's part of the plan too, no?

In the lore he does not think the kingdoms will unite, eternal chaos has been written.  If you do manage to unite the kingdoms, it leaves him confounded.

Wow this game is... phenomenal. I don't think I would be able to code a game using VSCode and incoporate AI into this. This is just insane XD. I love the gameplay so much (I just love card games in general) and the presentation is amazing too! Great job!

Means a lot coming from the dev of Flowing in the Space, that game is my favorite of the jam!  Amazing game!!
