Describe your game in one sentence
A long form idle game that uses producitivity tools for progression.

What feedback are you looking for
Main focus for this sprint:
* Did the tutorial explain the game well enough?
* Did the minimise windows work as you would expect?
* What minimised windows would you expect to see/have in this type of game? (Please note: The timer and quest view are placeholders to test functionality.)

I'm still fixing the following, so no need for feedback on:
* The UI will be prettied up, I've applied the same theme everywhere and it doesn't play nicely in some spots and I still need to fix them.
* The study buddy isn't as controllable as I'd like, nor has enough animations and interactions.

Did the tutorial explain the game well enough?

Yes. The core mechanics were explained clearly, though the tutorial felt a bit long and I was briefly confused about which quest it wanted me to create. Some grayed-out buttons also added to that confusion.

Did the minimize windows work as you would expect?
Minimizing, reopening, and moving the window worked as expected. Resizing the minimized window worked, but I didn’t realize it was possible until much later.

What minimized windows would you expect in this type of game?
Mainly the ability to control how small the minimized window is. That functionality already exists; it just needs clearer visual indication that the window is resizable.

Chill game, liked the art and feel of the ui, the tutorial could be a bit shorter like maybe combining some of the tasks in one would be nice like wasd with qe. Also a but it does not scale on full screen on my 21:9 ultra wide

Developer

Agree with the tutorial.

This is good feedback about ultra wides as I wasn't sure what to do there. I got feedback from an old jam from an ultra wide user saying they didn't like the UI being at the extents of the monitor.

What do other games do with ultra wide monitors? Do you feel the UI in the corners should be all the way to the corner as an ultra wide user?

Submitted

Yes I think the UI should scale or you lock the game in 16:9 ratio some games do this

The game is very chill and cute. However, I feel it would be better if the character didn't stand in an empty space. Perhaps it could be an abandoned house or a forest where the player can build a house.

The tutorial explains the game quite well, but it feels a bit long and slightly complicated for a cozy game. I’m not entirely sure how to simplify it, though.

Regarding the minimized window, it would be helpful if players could at least set up new tasks, start the Pomodoro timer, and check the timer time. Ideally, the player should be able to access most of the game's functions even while the window is minimized.

Developer

I love the idea of a backdrop of something to fill the void.

Agreed, the tutorial is long. I think I might cut it back and add a tool tip on launch, then allow players to skip through tool tips for the ones who like to know all shortcuts/capabilities.

The minimised windows are still a work in progress. I'm not sure where I'll take it, but I agree the player should be able to do more while minimised.

Hi, I'm on Linux and I tested it, i think the tutorial is great, but the first time I didn't click in the right place when it was time to place the item and i was kinda locked in (i don't really know what i did, i destroyed a block though), the second time it works fine, i like that there is the reminder on the top right corner, but i had a problem when i launched a task, i don't know if it's just me but i couldn't alt tab and it didn't minimize, and i had to quit the game do something else
I think the art and the ambiance are really nice and cozy, it really gives off an impression of quality i think

Developer

Thank you for playing and testing :)

I do need to lock down the tutorial a bit more to not allow players to delete a block before they can purchase their first block.

Did the minimise button work? This is the one between settings and the hat (clothes).

Admittedly I don't have Linux installed so I haven't tested on Linux, so it may be a Linux issue I need to test.

this is what i have when i click the button : (so with the button i can alt tab now) so maybe it's alright ? because with the windows button i can minimize it and the transparent windows stays alright

(it says missing token when i try to put the image i will send it on discord maybe)

Developer

Also, I added a Linux build this time, so if you use Linux, please let me know if it works.
