Very cool concept and well-made! I had a hard time distinguishing which plane was the “main” one that I should  use to target, but overall, once I got the hang of the tutorial, moving to the main game was daunting and interesting! I found the controls a bit confusing at first, but I got there eventually. I’m not sure if the UI got cut or not, but this side-eye was amazing to have on the side! Made me chuckle here and there.

Thanks for the entry!

I have never seen that bug, no idea what caused that🤣 I did think multiple times that i should put a highlight around the players plane to make it clear where your bombing, but didnt get round to it in the end. Thanks for playing and the feedback.

Haha, the horrors of post-submission time! I think it's resolution shenanigans again, something has been off from a lot of entries this jam. Wonder if it's a Godot thing. Did you use Godot?

Developer(+1)

It is godot yeah. Sometimes the rules about screen space, local space and global space can be a tad esoteric in godot. I've also not learnt how resolutions are supposed to work, so that could be playing a part.

It was fun. Maybe it could benefit from a smoother camera, maybe even static to some degree. I found the movement most fun around the edges of the map, where the camera wouldn't be following me so I could keep better track of myself and the enemies.

Developer

Thats an interesting idea, i didn't think much about the camera when making the game but ill definitely think about it more in the future. Thanks for playing

Fun game with good controls. 👍

Developer

thank you very much 🤙

Good concept. And thanks for putting in arrow controls for us lefties :).

I wasn't sure where to go to bomb the enemy.

The 'stealth' mode was nicely done with the detection circles around the german fighters.

The "Evade Within X.X " popup went haywire for me when I had 3 germans after me. I evaded them for a while but then it said I was shot down.

Good effort!

Developer

Your not the only person to mention not knowing what to bomb. I realise now I should have probably stated specifically that all buildings (besides the airport) are targets. Thanks for playing and for the feedback.

Pretty cool fast-paced gameplay and loved that we were thrown into the heat of battle right away. I wasn't quite sure if I was able to target all of the buildings or just specific ones (when flying in a formation I wasn't sure exactly from which jet's location the bomb would land, maybe this had something to do with it?).

Also loved the fast reaction from enemy planes when spotted. Nice heroic music theme too! And clever touch with the history tab, probably will be using that in future Historic Jam games if there's enough time.

Yeah, the only plane that matters for bombing is the center one. I did think a few times about ways i could make it clear which plane was yours, and where your bomb would land, but I didnt add one in the end. Thanks for playing, im glad you liked the history tab. It's one of those things ive wanted to add for awhile.

Nice work! The music was an excellent fit, very appropriate sound. Loved the historical tab to read up on the history.

I really liked how the allies helped keep the player alive to focus on the mission, it was a really fun mechanic!

Thank you very much for trying out our game.

Fun fact: That was not just a game mechanic, they would fly in threes and if needed they would fly into AA gun fire. They were very brave woman willing to give their lives so one of them could go unnoticed so they would not fail, they only lost 30 woman which is also amazing. At the end of the war one of the bombers located all the areas where the woman got downed to remember them, I can't believe I was never told about them in school.

Awesome audio! But I wasn't sure what was a target and what was just decoration. Needs more visual clarity.

Developer

Hi there, everything on the maps destructable, maybe i should have made that clearer. Thanks for playing.

Great music and sound FXs, and amazing choice of topic!

I found the tutorial helpful, but not at first. The actual level felt a bit too overwhelming after the simplicity of the tutorial but, overall it was quite fun to play.

Congrats!

Developer

Hey, yeah if we had a bit more time we might have spread a lot of stuff over a few different levels. But time being what it is we just threw it all in one. Thanks for playing, glad you liked the music.
