this game was designed to torment me, a broken keyboard and dyslexia, spelling ins not in the cards lmaoooo BUT this game was still a blast! honestly even though you only spend limited amounts of time outside the typing minigame the level design and character pixel art was fantastic and look really well polished! super fun game!

So fun! The typing is such a clever combat mechanic and I love the overworld.

I looooove typing games and the isometric pixel art is so cute !! Stand out though is the voice acted sound effects. Awesome work : )

Solid typing game, having a rating system is a good use of the theme, but there are more areas where it could have been implemented. As a side note, rating systems are more engaging when they are visible during gameplay. Having the letter rank visibly update as the player types would make the game more exciting. Another interpretation of "slick" is minimal downtime. The theme could have been incorporated in the overworld with a fast, slick movement system. The typing system itself is perfectly implemented; being able to immediately write the next word and to write them in any order, is very slick. I had fun!

Seriously a great typing game! Some more variance among the words would be great, but overall excellent! The look and feel was great, the mechanics are simple but there is still strategy about which phrases to go for.

(Also +1 for the balatro-esque background. IDK if thats what you were going for but thats a huge positive in my book)

I was NOT expecting to find a typing game in this jam. all i could think half way through was this game would honestly have been so useful when i was a kid to help me improve my typing skills. This was great. very slick

I loved how to were able to make multiple typing options for players of the slower typing variety (me). It was super cool to have the RPG aspect of approaching each of the minions to fight them!

Cool game! I love the isometric art. I tend to have like 100 wpm but for some reason this game makes me feel like I can't type at all lol. I think not being able to hit backspace when I make a mistake really throws me out of my element.

Well done!

Love the vibe in the overworld! Clearly my chopstick typing technique is more than enough for the likes of these cretins. I found myself raising my arms after completing a word as if I was a wizard who just call a spell (get it?). Great concept and execution!

Love the music and sound design!

This is really cute gameplay for an RPG style game! I really enjoyed the effects when you messed up a word :) Felt properly taunted

The sfx are peak

Touch typing battler, nice idea! I like the overworld/battle switching, feels like a light RPG. I now have learned how bad I am at typing without making mistakes...

Love the visuals and sound effects, the core gameplay is pretty solid to, I found myself cursing aloud when i made a typo

Peak sound design at its finest

My favorite part was the sound effects, although I wish spaces were also part of the typing portion as my brain doesn't just work with typing individual words without spaces in between them >_<

You can still type the spaces between words, you just won't lose any points for skipping them.  Sorry that wasn't clear.

Thanks for playing!

I liked the music and the sfx were all really slick! Having the ability to choose from 3 words is cool, but I found myself not really making a strategic choice and ended up choosing randomly most of the time.

Great art style, music, sound effects. I think this would make for an interesting multiplayer game haha, choosing to try and commit to long words, shoot out short words, etc., played several levels and got B ranks! Nice work!

I'm in love with this art style, and it was fun to play :) loved how the combat system knew what word I was trying to type even when typing out of order. great work!
