Pretty reasonable gameplay, and charming art. In a sea of games that were too hard or poorly tested, this one felt too easy! What triggers the machine to bite back?
Thanks! The machine goes into eating rampage the more you feed it, cause it wants more and more!
cool graphics
Fun little idea here! Great job submitting it to the jam!
like the others mentioned, having a little "wiggle room" with the detection would make the gameplay much more enjoyable. But it's got potential for sure! Adding some kind of "OM NOM NOM" feedback when he gets fed would go a long way too! :D Nice job!
Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it! :D
What a fun surprise! Loved the unique presentation of this classic childrens game. The arm that follow the cursor is perfection. How did you code the check for correct piece placement? It feels both accurate and forgiving in a nice way.
Thanks for the feedback! It's done via polygon area collision detection, but with a bit of a interior margin, you can control how easy the detection is on how far into the interior the internal polygon is. Each object and mouth shape have their own areas.
Was the detection for feeding the shape for it to be lined up perfectly with the one you're holding?
Hi, well mostly yes, there is a margin and a "sweet spot" for each shape so to say.
I liked the idea and it is straightforward. I feel like the detection of shapes took away from the enjoyment as I had to try to perfectly align it in order for the machine to eat it.
Thanks for the feedback, the pixel perfect detection could've been easier on the edges, maybe next time :D
The more i play, the more i like it. Good game.
I completed the game on “normal mode” and avoided getting eatean by the machine!
I think the holes are too “perfect”, I’d prefer a little margin =D
Now that i think about it, maybe in easy mode the detection could've been not so pixel perfect.
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you managed to escape alive :D
I like that everything feels handmade
