How does your game represent "Slick"?
killing demons in a slick samurai way

This is a fun boss rush. I love the art and the design of the game, and the slashing mechanic is pretty nice. there is a bug where if you spam click, you can sometimes just melt the boss's hp
very slick presentation! i definitely love the style, you did incredible work.
i managed to beat the other boss right after you left btw! was a cool game. hope you can find the time to make even more.
Thank you for the time playing it and for the interview, it was a really refreshing experience, just too bad my mic wasn't working, and yeah I'll be making more experimental gameplays or two, and holy sh8t you defeated thelat other boss fast, I just saw it and really loved how it turned out ♥️ much love, GG
I think I got a little lost on how the attack works as I kept taking damage when I placed my points, fantastic art and itch page backdrop though!
Really like the look of this. Even though I was struggling with the combat I kept coming back to it to try again! As others have pointed out, I think sound and boss telegraphing could be worked on. Also, I still feel like I am missing something about how the main attack works, but still, this is really far along for a game jam game. Nice work!
I will come back for this game later. However, I can say right now is; Awesome art. I did not have any luck, though. It feels like it is based on parry. Good job nonetheless, as I said I will come back to this game later.
Took me a second to figure out how the attacking works but once I did I was able to rapidly chain attacks together and it felt so satisfying (and slick!) Artwork is beautiful. Awesome job! :)
As a fellow boss fight enjoyer I found this game very fun. The pixel art is gorgeous especially with the limited colour pallet and suits the game very well, the mechanics are also very unique and the freeze-frames after slashing make it really satisfying. I would however add a very small amount of I-frames after slicing because it is kind of unpredictable where you are going to end up after doing the slice.
One of the better games I’ve played for this jam. The combat system is extremely unique and while it could’ve used a tutorial once I got the hang of it it was rather satisfying. It’s a little rough around the edges*, but given that it’s a game made in 9 days that’s more than acceptable and it’s insanely impressive that it’s as good as it is.
*Slash sfx are a little too loud, the boss’ telegraphing is a little muted, the aforementioned lack of tutorial, and the fact that there’s a relatively easy exploit that lets you consistently take a third or so off either boss in one combo.
The visuals are amazing on this and the gameplay is fun! The fighting mechanic is unique and very slick.
Great job!
This is cool! I love when there's a combat mechanic I haven't really seen before. Really polished game both in terms of the art and the overall game feel. Fun boss patterns, the slice mechanic is really cool and offers a high skill ceiling. My only critique and I'm not sure if it's just my speakers but the audio was a little disorienting (the music was super quiet but the slash SFX were super loud). Outstanding work for just 10 days!
you sir, I think is the only one who enjoyed experimental mechanics, and I love you for it 🙇♀️🙏, yes the aidio is a bit muted that's kinda my bad habit, I always used headphone so it sounds loud to me but I really didn't consider about hearing it without headphones, something to consider about for my next jam, GG
It’s nice seeing a fellow samurai type game! I really dig your approach to capturing that samurai feel! At first it wasn’t super intuitive, but you can get the hang of it.
Great art and atmosphere; beautiful game. Although it could use more feedback when the boss performs an attack, and the attack system takes some getting used to, the game is incredibly fun. I especially love the feedback when landing a hit, it made landing multihit attacks really slick.
