I just played your game, Kahn, and honestly, I have pretty mixed-to-positive feelings about it. For one, while I like the core concept and execution of the theme, plus the points system and music, for one, the game was a bit too complex in my opinion (Yes, I did read the instructions.), and how not all the time does the out of place stuff can be considered, well, out of place. I would recommend putting the more obvious out of place objects and then players can quickly merge the duplicates for added bonus points, so that they can keep putting the out of place objects into the bin and keep racking up points without making it too easy. But really, this is just my own silly personal opinion on this game. Really solid game, Kahn! This is a good top contender right here!
No you are 100%. In fact it was intended to be played like that. I didnt realize the categories of werent obvious. A typical issue from having made the game myself. You were suppose to know easily that there were four weapons and you just needed to find them then get to the duplicate part. Even though I had some play testing, I should have caught this and either made it easier, more obvious or maybe a tutorial.
This is a neat little experience. The main objective is pretty trivial, what I found to be really enjoyable was putting all the matching items in rows and them trying to combine them all for extra score during the little timing window. I personally don't like that there's a bunch of instructions on the same screen as the game itself, but other than that I think its cool for what it is, and you definitely achieved your goal of creating a solid inventory system! I scored 264 points btw!
Thanks for playing my game. Yes that sorting to maximize score is intended as the "right way" to get max points. I think that is about as high as you can get without some real good RNG! Well done. I also dont like the text "in game", but play tests shows that people need it. Maybe a help menu thing would be better. My next jam I aim to include a tutorial level instedd!
Fun game. I missed the instruction about what should i drop than figured it out. My highest score is 196 so far. And for the last level which says "My bag is full!" only. I woulve removed potions, and books :D. Ty for creating a good game. I enjoyed it.
Yeah seeing people playing this game I realize that the category sorting I intended was not as obvious. For sure I could have communicated that better! Thanks for playing my game!
Pretty fun.
I'm curious why only the second half is timed. It seems easy to game by delaying the recycling step until you've memorized the board. I imagine a speedy resolution to the first step should add bonus time to the second.
The entire game was on a timer at first, but this was too hard and stressful. The timer on the second part allows you to take your time to reorganize and move around things in the inventory, placing similar items next to each other. Both of these mechanics was kinda designed to make sure I made moving things in an inventory feel good. At least that was the plan. Thanks for playing my game!
great game, cool skill-based mechanics! kinda aim trainer XD
great job! it me a lot of time to solve the last one :) but it was fun experince
Thanks for playing my game! I have noticed several people struggling with that, it wasnt suppose to be hard to know to look for the 4 weapons or that weapons arent loot. Shows how important play testing is to set difficulty!
I hate sorting my inventory in games but yet I found myself sorting mine before recycling so I could do the duplicates easily XD really good job!
Awesome, I hoped people would do that and find it rewarding! Thanks for playing my game!
Great game! I sent this to my friend who always has inventory issues in games lol.
Haha thanks for playing my game. Yeah, it is specially design as inventory management practise! :D
A very nice game! It feels like a unique and fun mix between an inventory system and a match-3 game.I had fun hacking the score by sorting items before removing the out-of-place ones! XD
I think you should turn off focus mode on your UI control nodes when it's not needed. Right now, it causes the focused button to be activated whenever you press enter or space, also the game can use some more polish tricks ( like : making the buttons more juicy by making them squach and stretch when pressed )
Overall, a great submission !
Thanks for playing my game. It is actual an intended mechanic and I hint in the text that you can sort in phase 1. It is the way to score maximum points I am sure! Glad you enjoyed it. I did spend a lot of time on polish, like particles and stuff like that, but squashing the button is a great idea! I didnt think about the focus, thanks for the tip!
Yeah, I noticed it was intentional—I just missed the text somehow XD
The game is really good and has nice polishing touches. I didn't mean to say it wasn't polished!
Sorry, I should have explained that in better way 😅
That's a fun game. I like it.
Music doesn't loop though.
Thanks for playing my game. I was sure I set that too loop. I'll make patch it after the jam!
Sort of like an opposite match 3 game. enjoyed it a lot. my first thought was "oh this is a good inventory system" and then read that was your goal, nicely done!
Thank you for playing my game and the kind words!
like it
I like it

Thanks for playing it!
Very cool concept. I love the visual style and gameplay.
Thanks for playing my game and the nice words!
That was a lot of fun! I like the contrast of taking your time, relaxingly finding the odd-ones-out, and then having to suddenly be quick and stack duplicates. Simple, satisfying and fun.
Thanks. This was my hope. Did you end up sorting the inventory during the first phase or rush in the second? :D
YOU CAN SORT IT FIRST?! (sorry i'm bad at reading tutorials before having my coffee)
I have to replay it now
Great concept and fits the theme! And I liked that the pixel art matches with other elements too
Thanks, and thanks for playing my game
Charmingly made !
Thanks and thanks for playing my game!
It's a great game! I was just a bit confused at the beginning🧐
Yeah it needs a tutorial level! Lesson learned!
Nice concept and execution!
Good job!
