How does your game represent "Slick"?
"Slick" gave us the idea for the oily surface mechanic.
It also served as a baseline for the aesthetic.
Also, I find the arcade-puzzle genre pretty slick!

This is a slick puzzle game! Great visuals (love the shiny animated game pieces) and a gameplay loop I could enjoy forever.
I never thought I'd see a slick match three, this is awesome. It does break my brain, I kinda wish I had a smaller map to learn on lol
Thanks for the feedback!!
Yeah you're right, it was really hard to balance the experience as I wanted a starting point not too overwhelming for new players, but still interesting and intense for more experienced ones... Which is why new blocs appear only if you destroy some, during the first 15 waves.
But now that I've gathered more feedback I agree that it is still overwhelming for new players. It gave me some ideas to improve the experience, so look forward to that haha ;)
Sliding was a nice spin on this game type!
Pretty slick, the art looks really nice and the vibes are actually immaculate. The only thing that I would improve is add some sound effects. I also thought that the most optimal move was almost always to oil up the whole board since there was not enough time to actually make up a strategy.
Thank you for playing :D
Not having sound effects was a deliberate choice to try something different from other match-3 games and let the music "surround" the player... But now that I have more time I will try adding some sounds and see how it fits!
You're absolutely right, it is often very strong to oil the entire map... It was a real concern in term of design during dev.
I felt that reducing the time would help in that regard (you simply don't have time to oil the map, so you need to be more deliberate), but I see how it could backfire and have the opposite effect in stressful situations.
I am still thinking about that issue, but improving the flow of the experience (giving more time, reducing the size of the grid at first, etc.) could help in making it less stressful for new players. For more experienced player, I believe that the scoring system kinda solve this issue as you need deliberate play to optimize your score.
Thank you for your feedback, it helps a lot!
Even though this isn't my kind of game; I can clearly see this is super well done! The vibes are immaculate and you really put some effort into it
The core gameplay here is extremely solid and rewarding. Great job!
Really interesting puzzle game! I don't think I've ever seen a match 3 like this, it has super slick vibes. I liked the rhythm game aspect, it felt like a slow dance.
lofi beats to get slick to! Sweet simple game!
fun game to play i rate an aweome/10
I could feel my neurons holding hands in new ways as I started to really get it. Gorgeous presentation and aesthetics, great work
very fun game, really cool aesthetic and nice presentation
A very slick idea! I thought a bit overwhelming at first but once I started to get it the game was super fun!
Loved the art and the music, and super slick gameplay! My high score was 15770.
One thing, maybe allow people to end their turn. I found the turn time to a bit fast, but it might just be skill diff
Thank you so much for trying out the game and your feedback
That's a good idea! Tetris was my main inspiration so I wanted to get something frantic
But I could totally see the game working if I tuned it up differently to make it more calculated and precise. I might add another game mode after the end of the jam :D
THe aesthetics, the music, the gameplay loop - SLICK.
Cool puzzle idea! The general aesthetic was also very pleasing. Instantly puts me in the Zone 8)
really digging the visuals, and the music really gives chill vibes. I dont normally enjoy sliding puzzles, but I really enjoyed this and would totally play more!
