super fun, great art, and music slaps.
think I'm just realizing now how much I like good water based gameplay, especially sprite-made water. Stardew fishing was always one of my favorite gaming memories lol.
the rollercoaster effect of the tongue is super fun. would love to see this in a full release or something.
5/5/5/5.
fantastic work!
Thank you :) Sorry for the late reply, I have been busy this week but I really enjoyed your game and was able to give it a great rating for its cool presentation :D
The tongue mechanic is such a fun and unique idea, especially how it connects to the title. It felt really nice to control once I figured it out. I did hit the same bug where the tongue detaches and gets stuck and couldn’t recover from that, but outside of that I really liked the gameplay. The bird chase + fish pressure makes it feel hectic in a good way. Really cool design!
Yay, thank you!! Yeah we gotta work that bug out, it seems to be the most common issue people are running into. Glad you had fun with the bird & fish! I'm not sure if you made it to the rain phase, but it gets even more crazy at that point>:)
Also p.s. love the profile pic haha
You wont't belive me, but me and my team had a simmilar idea with the same name when we started this gamejam. I like that someone implemented it and did it great, It's really fun
No way lmao! We noticed there were a couple entries like that and it's interesting how everyone who went with S-Lick went in a different direction with the gameplay. Glad you enjoyed it!
cool game! I also ran into the bug where your tongue would detach and get stuck, but otherwise this game felt really nice to control. I took me a second to figure out how the controls worked though. Overall i think this is a great game
Thank you!! Appreciate the feedback on the controls, I think next time we'll include a tutorial!
lmao this is great! sometimes the tip of the tongue gets detached and i wasnt able to recover from that state, but i quite liked the gameplay!
Thanks! Yeah, we noticed that bug but ran out of time to correct it lol. Appreciate your feedback!
I like the unique use of the tongue. Having that incorporated with the title of the game is actually such a fun idea. Great work!
Thanks! We thought it would be creative:)
The tongue mechanic and controls are really cool. Good entry!
Thanks! We worked really hard on that:) Appreciate it!
This game feels really hectic and fun. Having the bird chase the player around is a good way to make them move, and having the fish makes you frantically try to get out of the water. The SFX were helpful to know when I was safe / in the water. Really cool design :)
Thanks :) I just tried your game and you also have a really cool movement and shooting mechanic.
slurp
sloop
I like how you overloaded the movement mechanic with needing to eat flies, it was fun trying to maximize eating and staying alive. It felt a bit tough to start out, maybe making the enemies a bit slower at the beginning would make it easier to ramp up.
Thanks for playing our game! Yeah haha we definitely could have made it a bit easier on the get-go, now that you mention it. Appreciate your feedback!
I feel like the slick thing is a bit of a strech, but I like how slow and strategic the game plays. It feels more like a puzzle game than anything else, and you’ve got to fly offscreen sometimes which is an interesting risk-reward dynamic. It’s also a bit buggy, but it wasn’t too terrible and it was very playable. Good job y’all!
Yay! Thank you for the thoughtful comment:) And we hadn't initally thought of it like a puzzle, but we definitely see where you're coming from. Glad you had fun!
