How does your game represent "Slick"?
We wanted to make a game where the movement feels absolutely slick, and you never want to stop moving.

You're supposed to grab upgrades and abilities as you learn how to hone your powers of slickness in navigating across designed levels.

Slide jump through enemies, spin slash titans, grapple around corners, and weave through levels while maintaining your speed.

Absolutely love the visuals, I found the game very difficult to play - instructions were confusing and the movement didn't quite seem there, but I feel like with more time you could make a really game with some really cool movement tech here.

The world you designed loos so unique and I just love that floating turtle in the distance. Had some issues trying to figure out what to do but you got the movement and sliding down great!

Oh man what a beautiful game! The assets, levels, and music all combine to make something really special. I would love to play more of this, but I am not sure what the controls are, so I wasn’t able to make it very far. I may circle back later to give it another shot, because I would really like to explore more of this world you’ve created. Excellent work from what I have seen though!

The visuals are quite refreshing. They almost remind me of mid-2010 TMNT games to some extent. The jump felt fine for the purpose, but I got a feeling that this kind of game could easily have a speed-runner element to it, and an enjoyable one at that! One thing I can say for sure is that the verticality this game can provide will be euphoric!! Please keep working on this game, You may not be there yet, but you are certainly moving in the right direction as far as an addictive game development is concerned :)

Do make sure to play and rate our game as well (it might take a minute for it to load)

THANK YOU!

Your comment is very kind. It's definitely a bit sad that we ran out of time before bringing it all together, but I'm really glad you saw some glimpses of our vision from what we were able to submit!

Hey don't worry about it. Game jams are supposed to be sessions where you give a kickstart to your ideas. Having finished game ready is part of fun, but the other part of that fun definitely stems from having a rapid prototype that you KNOW can be much better given time! I mean soo many great games were literally born in game jams, you know.

This could be one of them. I can see it as a desparate game designer myself. Cheers 🍻

The level design was very confusing and the world looked messy. Also jumping on the turtles felt buggy. Some of the visuals were impressive still. Maybe I just had an unlucky experience.

Thanks for trying it out!
Yeah, the turtles needed to be a bit smaller and levels were made in the last 24 hours of the jam ;;.

After the first section it's mostly just a playground for you to grapple and screw stomp around. The dogs drop mega upgrades that will make you extremely fast and basically unlock your ability to get anywhere.
