I hate those turtle spitting bubbles to the point I enjoy looking at their death animation, seeing them cry on the ground.

I love the character's death sounds. Hilarious. And it matched what I was thinking every time I died.

Slick game, slick controls.

It only makes sens that Garfield lives in Slick city.

i love slip slidin around and shooting tOOgans. the sort of slippery ledge climb and movement combinations were really cool, and the personality of the game was on point.

Pretty slick. It’s fascinating how you managed to make it difficult with such a seemingly game-breaking mechanic. At first, you might think it will be very easy since there is no limit to how long you can stay in bullet time, but the introduction of enemy shields makes the real challenge more about proper positioning and being able to reach the enemy’s weak point using the character’s unique moveset. That’s a very good workaround, and it works well.

As a result, the game is now very challenging. Some may like it, some may not, but in my opinion it’s hard by necessity, and with practice anyone could surely beat it.

This is a really fun and suprisingly challenging (at least for me) game! Nicely done!

It was very well done and moving around felt quite nice! Just at the start it was a bit unintuitive to me that you dont hold to move but the A and D just dash but when I got used to it, it was pretty cool!

Really good introduction of the game mechanics, good flow and controls.
The art is also pretty, well done!

Nice game. I like the movement but sometimes I find it hard to control. Good experience overall. Good job!

Really cool movement! I love the bullet time and the shooting has great feeling impact! I somtimes got a bit frustrated when I died in the later stages of a level and was sent all the way back to the start (but that can be blamed on my massive skill issue). Very fun submission!

Slick af um wow the animation of the boss is dope, and I love the swears when you die.

Garfield kicked my ass, Mater and Ninja Turtle just kind of stood there and laughed? Not sure if this was a bug, they were all just ganging up on me and really REALLY kicking my ass.

Great game. Art, music, enemy design, voice acting, combat, all of it was great. Difficult, but fair in the end. Very nice job :)

Awesome! You really managed to capture the momentum of skating and build a sick moveset around it. Really well done. =)

Very cool movement, the bullet time was a really nice surprise!! I couldn't get past the second shield lizard though even after trying a few times haha. Slick game

Reminded me of my super nintendo days. I suddenly have a PTSD flashback of that old batman platformer

Great execution! The controls feel simple enough to pick up and play but difficult to master. I like how the enemy goo piles speed you up. Slick!

Loved every aspect of this game, great job overall! If I had to have one minor nitpick, sometimes the final boss's rng just makes it so that you can't shoot it enough to kill it before it goes off screen since your shots get blocked. That's a minor nitpick, though, it usually doesn't do that and I'm not sure how it would be avoided, either. Great game!

This game is so slick! Very polished for a Game Jam game! Love the pixel art. 10/10

I really liked the pixel art and the music. I had some difficulty getting the controls to click for me. There were aspects of it I liked: I could tell the mid air dash was supposed to feel similar to in fighting games, I like a good bouncy ground pound and slow mo bullet shooting is always cool. However, there were situations where I wasn't really sure what the developer intended way to progress was. For example, in the first level with the blue enemy, I could bounce off the blue goo, but I couldn't figure out any way to maintain momentum and kill the green shielded enemy with a bounce. All I could do was skate close to them and hope I'd be able to get enough height from the jump to shoot down at them, which didn't feel as slick as what I imagine you guys had in mind was.

Developer

I'm with you on that blue enemy. You perfectly read what I wanted to go for there, but between bugs and priorities, it didn't end up being super practical to pull off. I've seen other people go for that blue goo and can't help but let out a sigh of lament every time. Oh, well. Thanks for playing!

This game bangs, the controls are slick, they use slick goo, the music is boppin and the boss fight is really good. Just a winner tbh

this was one of the only jam games i actually played all the way through, this was peak

very fun, solid entry! there was a good amount of content in there too, even a final boss. you can tell care went into the pixel art and music! i'm a fan of the freezing in midair to shoot idea (it's similar to something i've been using in one of my prototypes too). i think you utilized it well with the shielded enemies, making the game more about positioning/movement than aim. just pressing a direction to midair dash felt a little janky at first, but it does help to give it a wild "on rollerskates" feel.
