I love how the little penguin is so chill about getting launched out of a cannon haha! Such a fun game, great job!

nice polished game

Great incremental game!! Your artwork is lovely :)

Developer

thank you!!!!! This was actually my first time trying to do art assets myself so I really appreciate the comment!

I don't really play idle games but I agree with others that it has that kind of feel to it.

The game slows to a crawl later on. It seems the money earned scales pretty linearly, while upgrade costs rise exponentially.

It could almost work as an idle game.

Nice game, very fun! I love incremental games! I only have one note: the dollar button to open the menu isn’t very clear… and I would have preferred the distance traveled to always be visible instead of being fixed under the cannon!

thank you!! Yes I have had a lot of feedback about the shop button! I will definitely be taking note for future projects. On reflection I also agree about the distance travelled being always visible, I was trying to figure out how to make it look right in the jam but ran out of time before figuring it out!

Thanks for your submission! This was fun!

Really cool! Love these kinda games

Wish there were more upgrades though since the ones in the shop kinda feel a bit too samey? They're all just kind of "shoot farther" from what I understand. Maybe you could have some more active abilities like double jumps that can be triggered while a penguin is launched or something

Developer

Thank you!!!

I fully agree with your point about the upgrades, I think active abilities would have greatly improved the upgrade experience.

Simple but fun game :)

Also kind of unique for that jam

A simple yet fun little game that reminds me of a Flash game I used to play: Learn to Fly

Developer

Yessssss!!! That was my inspiration for the project.

Nice game! Was grateful to have an auto shoot button after a while though haha!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!!! I initially didn't plan on having an auto shoot button in the release UI, but after adding it for game testing purposes I realised that it pivoted the game into more of an idle game which I felt worked well with its simple gameplay.

Took some time before I found the shop. Was wondering how to shoot further!

Developer

Yea, I think if I added a little splash before the game loads or made the icon start to move and glow when people have enough money to buy their first upgrade it would have helped!!

Poor penguin! I didn't realize there was a shop at first, so I just watched him get launched over and over to the same spot. I think that needs better signposting.

Though I did notice that while the penguin disappears after each launch, his 'entity' does not and you will stack penguins up on an invisible pile.

I like the palette you used btw :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I'll definingly take it on board.

The pallet I used is 'Snowfall by dots' I found on lowspec (https://lospec.com/palette-list/snowfall)

Wow thanks for the link to that palette website, I haven't seen some of these before. I will be using this in the future :)
