Hiatus from game dev

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've updated. Unfortunately, I 've made not much progress on my project with Sato and Mitsuru.  Recently, I can't draw for more than an hour at most. Even then, it's still very hard on my hand and makes even references/doodles hard. While this isn't necessarily an excuse for development, it's made game dev very challenging.

So, I've been reflecting on what I actually want and enjoy working on in my life. I love creating stories. I love writing. I'm taking a hiatus from game dev and I'm working on becoming an author like I'd thought in college. While game dev is my childhood dream, I don't have the strength, resources nor money to bring them to life as I wanted. I, sadly, do not see game dev being my lifelong goal.

I don't want to write 'I quit' because I don't know if I want to say those words. So, for now, it's a break until further notice. I'm still going to be creating art and writing, but separate. I've been slowly trying to adjust my brush settings for my hand/arm, but I have a tremor and holding the tablet pen is... Well, it's difficult to keep my lines from shaking everywhere even with a stabilizer. I can't really pay anyone to create the art for me nor program either. I don't like asking for all that work for free, personally...

I'm very sorry for this post. And I really hope I won't let anyone down by making it, either. If traditional proves too difficult, I can self-publish my books here on itchio as well!

I really appreciate everyone! The support really keeps me going <3 Game dev will just be on my back burner for now

as someone who adores what you create, i'd much prefer you prioritize yourself first; in whatever form that may come. if being a game dev isn't it, i'll happily read your writing, consume what you can draw, etc. i'd rather you keep yourself able to do what you love and enjoy it than push yourself too far, or feel bad physically or mentally about what you're doing. good luck with your journey, and i look forward to Eating Up anything and everything you show to the world <3
