you certainly absolutely nailed the theme. i love the audio so much
Very cute style and visuals. I got extremely stuck on the second level - I clicked everywhere but couldn't figure out the puzzle.
Thanks for trying it out! Does it help to know that your cursor changes when it moves over something interactable?
If not, I've just added a hint to the bottom of the page :)
Managed to run after a few reloads!
Cute art and unique sounds!
The puzzles were a bit too pixel-hunt-y for me but I know that point-and-click is definitely one of the hardest to design for.
The way you move over the stuff to interact that you want to click on later made it a bit hard to control and try things, maybe if each thing would have a distinct position nearby it where Slymon would move when interacting the game could feel a bit better.
Some visual feedback about whether Slymon is interacting or just moving somewhere could communicate the result of your clicks better.
I’d like an option to invert the colors to black background and white lines, would fit well with the sleepy theme, I think.
Love the design of Slymon, thanks!
Thanks for trying out the game and for your thoughtful game design feedback!
Each interactable thing having a dedicated "move-to" destination (rather than the middle of the thing) is a great idea, as is providing feedback on what Slymon is intending to do. I also love the idea of playing around with colour inversion. Thank you!
Very cute! The track certainly made me feel like I was having a fever dream after a while haha. The puzzles are very tough to crack, would be cool if there was a hint system :)
Not being a point-and-click adept, it took a few tries to realize the mouse cursor changes over useful items or areas. (The first puzzle is a little misleading since the key is animated, so I thought only animated things were interesting and completely missed the duck in the second puzzle.)
After that, things feel into place more easily. The second-to-last puzzle was nearly incomprehensible visually, since the bits and pieces used to construct the ... (no spoilers) key loosening device ... didn't make much sense in isolation, though I understand the puzzle needed several "parts".
The last puzzle took some effort to discover the "holders" for the blocks. I knew the answer to the puzzle long before clicking enough to find where they went :)
I liked the progression of "feverishness" evolving in the visuals and audio through the levels, and the finale, which served as a good reward!
Some thematic nitpicking: the game says we need to wake up Sleepy Slymon, but he's "clearly" awake during gameplay (until you realize what's going on). Perhaps the player should be "ghostly"/"dreamlike" and the real Slymon be asleep on the bed? This may also help make it clearer what's under/behind Slymon since he's quite a big fellow.
Other than that, the game would benefit from clearer UI about where the interesting things/areas are (either don't make the first puzzle's key animated, or, mention looking for the mouse cursor change in the instructions). I guess using different color or line styles for active areas/items would be giving away the puzzle in most cases. :)
I've pretty much brute force some of the puzzle since I have no idea how to complete them, but I did get through the whole game regardless. Very trippy with cute art and pretty distinct sound effects (Slymon looks so cute but sound like an old grumpy old man when saying no lol).
Game was short but I had fun with it, though a bit more hints on what to do would be great.
Good visuals and audio! I got a bit confused on the second one because I hadn't realized I picked up the duck, controls were also a little bit bouncy which felt a bit bad, but overall fun :)
I like it!
The art is super trippy and I loved the NOOO noise. It was a bit tough for me to click on items in the inventory and then use them, I think it made the puzzles a bit more difficult to parse than you probably wanted. Otherwise a fun experience!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! You're right - the interface and interaction system was challenging to get right; thanks for perservering with it.
Looks intriguing but the page is crashing for me with
Try reloading a couple times, I think this is an issue with the asset system on web for a lot of games. Happens with my game too.
