Congrats for being the first entry to the jam!

I’m experiencing a weird bug. My screen reader has two voices (one for English, one for Portuguese) and it toggles between them automatically depending on the language the text is tagged in. Now, I don’t know how things are tagged here, but my screen reader voices are confused and it is reading things with both voices/languages.

For example, here’s what it reads in the Music slider setting, at the same time: [English voice reading in english]: Music slider fifty. [Portuguese voice reading in portuguese]: Music. cinquenta por cento*

*cinquenta por cento means 50%.

I hope you can find what weird creature is possessing my screen reader because this is a bit weird!

When NVDA is turned off, it chooses the portuguese voice - but that’s a problem because it reads it in the wrong accent and doesn’t recognize the words, so they are mispronounced.

Nuts! Thank you for letting me know. The game is supposed to detect if the player has a custom TTS installed, and if not, use the standard browser 'robot' voice. I only made the game in English, so there must be some auto-translation going on that I had no idea would happen. Neat. xD

I will try my best to figure out what's going on! Thanks again.

Thanks!

If this is an HTML game and you have access to the code, it might be an easy fix if you tag the language in the <html> element, as <html lang="en">.

(famous last words, but worth a shot?)

I appreciate that (again!). I'm relatively new to HTML development, so I will give it a shot.

Hi Patricia! I did everything I can to fix it now in the updated version, but as the problem doesn't exist on any of my devices it was hard to track down. If you happen to try again, please let me know if the language/overlap issue was fixed! Thanks. No pressure obviously, you're not my own personal beta tester! haha
