I don't receive indexation

Today my game was released, but my page still hasn’t been indexed. The game is free, and the page is fully set up. All categories are selected and everything else is properly filled out.

However, it still hasn’t been indexed. I’d like to know why this is happening and if there’s anything else I need to do to enable indexing.

You need to wait like a week, but sometimes you’ll have some problems anyway

Yes, we comply with all the rules and requirements. However, our page still hasn’t been indexed, and it’s been more than just a few days already.

There's usually nothing you can do. It's not like you did anything wrong; your game simply needs to wait for a manual review by the staff. Although the documentation says it takes a few days, in reality, it usually takes the staff a couple of weeks to complete these reviews.

The most common recommendations are not to rely on being indexed and to handle all the promotion yourself.

If you think there's an error, you should try contacting support (this forum is answered by the community, not the staff). You can copy the ticket number you receive in your email here and politely ask the moderator if they can notify the staff about your ticket.

Also, keep in mind that Itch doesn't index all games. The documentation doesn't mention this, but I've seen several games go months without being indexed, and the exact reason why is unknown. In the few cases where the admin has given an explanation, it is usually because there was a problem, for example, a copyright claim, or people who spammed.

They should just update the thing already. They are creating so much unnecessary work for staff by having unrealistic estimates in the official docs. It does not work after a few days, people complain and open tickets, do not get results after a few more days and then get frustrated, open even more tickets and some come to complain in the message boards, not understanding what they did wrong.

They did nothing wrong, it's the docs that are wrong and misleading. The docs fail at making clear that if staff has to look over a thing, that can take several weeks. And that if it did not happen almost immediatly, it is a thing that staff wants to look over.
