Wow what a great concept! I really enjoyed playing it, and hope that you make more levels soon :D
Amazing game! I was grinning the whole time playing it! Bravo!
Great interpretation on the theme and fantastic implementation. I got a bit lost on the final level (Got the keys, but lost the exit door haha) so maybe some way to intuit the path, as other have pointed out, would be good (Although I believe it's hard to do so without completely holding the player's hands). Anyway, this didn't take any enjoyment from my experience. One of my favorites of this jam so far!
OMG, this game is criminally underrated! It definitely deserves way more ratings! One of the best interpretations of the theme in this jam! Great work!
Well dang, I brainstormed a non-euclidean game for this theme, but thought it would not work well in 2D because vision it too good to pull any tricks. This is a fantastic implementation and so much fun! Great game - I wish I thought of it.
The game is sooo cool!!! I had some performance issues in my browser (I use Zen Browser, idk if that has anything to do with it), but overall it was a really enjoyable experience!
Thank you for playing!
It's not your browser's fault, my game is just poorly optimized. On some CPUs it will run fine, but not on others. I did do some performance optimizations before the deadline, but it needs more work. :)
Trippy game, and yes I am very confused! It is a clever mechanic though and a great tech demo I must say, I can imagine it was equally or even more mind bending designing these levels as it is playing them :D
A problem I had was remembering the different paths I had already taken which resulted in me just jumping around and never finding keys. An idea to fix this for stupid people like me could be that you had a trail behind the player that lingered for a bit so I knew which path I already tried recently. Other than that, great job! :)
Some kind of "fog of war" functionality is a brilliant idea!
Thanks for playing and commenting :)
Loved the mechanics! I find the idea to be very creative and the gameplay is fun
Cool idea. There were points I thought you forgot to add a key, then I kept exploring and found them lol.
Incredible game!
At first I thought it would be nice to have a key counter, but the door opening audio solved that issue and kept me guessing.
I think my head hurts a little bit, it was fun thinking about how it was made.
It would be great to think about how to swap the bits of levels out while not making so much of the screen black. That's a hard problem
Thank you for making the game.
Thanks a lot for playing. I think a key counter could still be a good idea because the number of keys can change from level to level.
It was really fun coding the engine and designing the levels, but also brain-melting at times.
If you want to avoid the black bits, I guess you have to go 3D.
I wish this game were longer!! I love puzzles themed around non-euclidean spaces, they're one of my favorites. I had a lot of fun playing
It's a neat idea to make the different paths change the environment. I do wish there was some way to intuit or figure it out rather than just trial and error.
Yes, I agree on the trial and error for the last level in particular. It was a bit of a troll level to push the tech to the limit. The only hint is to look for the background changes - there are four different backgrounds and one key in each background. But still, quite impossible and not fun, honestly.
For the other levels, I perceive the trial and error as exploration. Just like exploring a normal level in a 2d or 3d game, which is fun to do, you also need to explore these levels... but since the space is non-euclidean, you have to think out of the box to fully explore everything.
Neat and fun idea! Last stage felt like a bit too much trial and error, but great concept!
Very cool game, i like a idea of non-euclidian worlds
Thinkin about it on brainstorm but its hard to learn from scratch
Also good line of sight vision, but 8bit sounds little bit ear pain
Hey nice game. I really liked how fitting it was with the theme and it was something new and innovative. But I gotta ask did you make the audio laggy on purpose for the theme or is it not supposed to be laggy? The music was really nice but the lags kinda took away from the experience.
Thanks for playing and for your comments.
I'm sorry to hear about the audio lags/stutters. That was not on purpose.
Do you mind sharing which operating system, browser and CPU you are using? Did the game otherwise run smoothly? I suppose it could be some sort of performance issue with the game running on certain hardware configurations.
Edit: Also, I just changed the audio playback method. Maybe the issue is fixed now?
Hey I played your game again and the audio problem seams to solved!
But if you still want to now here is the info you asked for:
Windows
11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz
Microsoft Edge
Also the game was smooth but there were some lags here and there. In the later levels. But nothing serious I would say.
Thanks a lot for helping me out! :)
No worriesss
