This is the most stressful game in the whole jam. Awesome work. 5*
Phenomenal game! I immediately understood what I need to do, and I think I got what most of the power ups/downs do even without looking on the itch page. The gameplay feels familiar but original - I liked that you have the resources to solve all the problems the maze throws at you, but you need to make decisions on the fly to beat it. Initially I got hammered by the game, but I feel like I improved and was able to beat it on easy and normal - still not on hard though. The monster looks incredible too!
I guess my only complaint is that the balance between player speed and vision and the controls feels a bit off. At first it feels like the trap doors are unavoidable - thep player walks too fast to see them, and the timing of pressing dash is too precise. I also wish I could dash without breaking the walls - it's way too easy to break a wall when you didn't mean it, and if you're stuck in a dead end it can be game over. The player also felt like it's stuck to the wall and in the game like this it doesn't feel good..
Still, this is one of the rare games in game jams that I an totally see developing to a full fledge original game - very well done!
Really like this game! It looks good and the game play is really fun . I think the speed of the monster could be increased a bit though because I felt like even when I was messing up a lot, I didn't really need to worry about them.
That was horrifying, I felt like I was really ahead at one stage and then it was literally right there!
Nice Work!
Well made and enjoyable! The art style is nice, all the pickups and mechanics fit nicely together. Its a polished game!
A really fun little game, simple but effective.
My only complaint is that I don't think the torches work on easy mode, or maybe I just haven't figured out how to use them.
This is one of those simple jam games that turn out really well. The polish and game feel are really well made, the graphics are stylized and it all kinda just works out. I wish there was a tutorial (unless i missed it :P) but either way i figured out what i needed to do on my own. Good job
8.5/10 :D
The art is very well done!!! The gameplay is super intuitive. I could easily see myself spending quite a lot of time playing this game.
I really liked the game. This was probably really hard to make in such a small time. It was a bit stressful when playing, though. But still, great job!
Nice coherent game. Haven’t noticed any bugs while playing.
I liked the different mechanics, but it felt a bit unfair that a pickaxe would both consume the pickaxe and a point of your dash meter.
Good job creating this fully from scratch!
I liked it, it’s really well done and I loved the pickaxe mechanic + not being able to see very far
