Nice game. I didn't realize at first that I could pick up the sword at the start. It looked like a normal decoration, like a stone of some sort. Maybe add an arrow that points to it. Also the fact that you have the same sprites for the hints to where put the items is confusing. Maybe make the ones you place the items on stones. I liked the unique art style and animations. Good job.

It's definitely partly my personal taste, but this is my favorite art direction out of all the games I've played so far this jam! I was probably doing something wrong, but I couldn't seem to drop items on the runes, I tried dragging multiple different items into any of the runes that lit up, and none worked.

Visually I loved the shader effects going on, more people need to do this! I think adding some screen shake and a fleshy sound effect for when enemies get hit with the sword would have brought the juiciness to the next level.

Anyways great submission, looked and felt great!

Little help:

1 ... Step on button outside central circle ->

2 ... it RNG shows where to place inside central one

Yea I saw the highlight of where to place it, it just didn't let me drag any items to the highlighted spots

Developer

central circle == start location

where you collect items -> those are just to show where to place items

Eyyy! It worked! Thank you for pointing that out, I did not get that from the instructions on the game page. Having different art on the outside circles and central circle within the game would have probably led me in the right direction, or at least having some text within the game itself.

Anyways it was a really fun and beautiful game, and now my character is free from their blood god!

Love it. The art style is excellent and the game feels very polished. It took awhile to figure out exactly what to do even with the instructions but other than that, impressive work.

for some weird reason i couldn't press PLAY from main menu on browser version, then i downloaded it and tried it.

Really enjoyed this game! The art and animations are fantastic, giving the world a unique and polished feel. Gameplay is fun, though a little guidance on interacting with objects could help new players. Overall, a very engaging experience - great job!

Art in the game and on the page is outstanding, really good job! Sound was also good and it was a fun concept. I had a hard time understanding what to pick up, where to put it, ect. Still had fun and the game was engaging, awesome job

Finished this puzzle game challenge. It was interesting figuring out how to find the artifacts across the three different areas. The road at the beginning helps guide you there, and the platforms give hints for the placements before summoning the boss. The art looks great too. Nice work!

Very unique and fun game! Though I was confused on what exactly to do, even with the nice instructions on the itch page. I really liked the visuals and art style!

loved the visuals and the itch page. i think the instructions are a bit overwhelming but also creative!

maybe i suck at these type of games but i think there are too many cultists?

also the shader give me some disconfort after a while.

but i adore the visuals, the little strange world, the game feels very polished too, congrats!!

Wow! The art/visuals are really well executed!

Very strange (in a good way), reminds me of the spookiness of Don't Starve.

Very polished interesting looking game. Took me a bit to figure out how to play even with cute instructions. Nice map.  Enemies were too overwhelming to make satisfying progress. Fun was had!

Very nice game, like the artstyle a lot. I like the design of the world and that "unnecessary" things like cutting grass were added, it makes game feel more polished.  My nitpick would be that your trippy shader was a bit too strong. But otherwise very solid game. Good work!

Love the atmosphere and graphics. Very trippy game. Nicely made, congrats

I like the audio. Visuals are well made but there is like this blur surrounding everything and that bothered me a bit. For the rest its your standard dungeon crawler experience. I sometimes didnt understand how to interact with objects or the eyes on the ground. It could use some more feedback. But for the rest its definetly a good submission!

The gameplay is cool and fluid, and the atmosphere is well-crafted. I love the artwork and the music. Good job!

I really like the cohesive style, reminds me of don't starve mixed with the binding of issac. Great Job!

The game feels very polished, and the visuals are really pleasant with lots of nice little details.

Maybe it’s just me, but I struggled a bit to understand how to interact with objects. I tried interacting with the chest areas, especially in the bone zone, and the bones disappeared (bug), so I thought I had done the right thing. I then tried the same thing everywhere without success before realizing it had to be done in the middle area.

Also, enemies sometimes spawn so close to the player that you take damage instantly. The ending also feels a bit abrupt.

That said, it’s a strong and enjoyable experience overall.

The game looks really good! I love the character design and artstyle so much! The game is also quite fun with a simple battle mechanic, but at least there's a boss battle to end the game with. Placing the artefacts seems a bit unncessary gameplay wise, but it certainly sells that ritual lore the game is going for. Overall, this is quite a polished game, and well done to you all!

Other things I like:

  • The map is clearly laid out, so no confusion there
  • You can cut the grass too! Now that's a level of polish we are talking about
  • Health pickup is really helpful during some intense fights
  • Really nice and helpful itch page. Lore explaination too

Suggestions:

  • I wish there was a way to turn off the effect, as it makes me dizzy after playing for a while
  • Maybe some more moves other than slashing?
  • Jumping back to the main menu immediately after the boss fight felt a bit off, and left me stunned for a while

Love the wacky artstyle! At first I wasn't playing on fullscreen on the browser so I didn't notice the sword pickup and got lost lol, and then I also tried to drag and drop the bones to the highlighted...uh...how do I call them, green spikes? And it didn't work so I was confused, and then later I read that I'm supposed to only put them in the central alter, and then I got it. But it was too late because I right clicked on the 3 bones and they disappeared from my inventory, oops. I think if you made a clear visual distinction between the central alter and the rest, like a playing animation with an item slot on top, that would've been a more understandable visual cue. And then you could also limit the first time player spawns to not move the camera and not let the player wander off too far from the beginning just to force them to pickup the sword. Because otherwise you can't really start the game anyway. But other than that, the killing and the swording was satisfying, and it's fun to go around hitting bushes on the ground. Well done!
