Really liked all the characters and especially that they all had their own tracks and dialog! Did wish there was a little more onboarding/tutorializing, since I found my self not getting enough ingredients to make food until several nights in. But I did really like the atmosphere though, perfect for the theme and as a fan of dream barbeque, I can see the inspiration. Nice game!

How does the game fit the theme?
All worldbuilding is centered around strange places. Heavily inspired by liminal spaces in specific.
Each client comes from a strange place, some that can be found by the player when they are collecting ingredients!!
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Unity/Dotween

Really enjoyed this game! The art style is fantastic and very cohesive, and the surreal atmosphere works great. I liked the loop of exploring, fishing for mystery boxes, and mixing ingredients. Great job!
Dude this is amazing! The art style is PHENOMENAL I love surreal games like this and the idea of fishing for mystery boxes for ingredients is amazing! The music is amazing too, props to whomever of the 3 of you were doing that, cuz u sold it extremely well, everything felt trippy!! Esp when it goes "hurry" in the bath-tub!
I'd love to see where you guys go with this, and tbh I totally see this as something that CoryxKenshin/ManlyBadassHero or some other gameplay youtubers could play!!!
Amazing job y'all :D it's fs in my top 5 games in this jam!!
Super fun ands has a nice vibe to it. The artwork is incredibly cohesive and well made and the mixing mechanic is well done. I'd like to see a fuller version of this with more of the same but more content and greater polish!
Also if you update the game post jam, please try to fix that bug that seems to lock my movement, someone else said they pressed Q, all I know is in the house section quite late into the game my inputs stopped working, don't know if I pressed Q but yeah.
Heyy thx for the feedback! Yeah the "q" bug is just a shame and the worst is I already know why it's happening. I think I was able to fix it at some point but maybe I lost it to github or changed something that made it appear again uhrrr. (also someone just had the same bug IRL in front of me 😀)
But glad you liked it nontheless!
The crafting mechanic is so good implemented. I loved the art you guys got a great artist! Sound was very nice too! Good job
This game was so much fun!! The concept was very unique, and I had a lot of fun getting the ingredients and cooking up stuff for the peeps. The characters were also so well designed and matched their dialogues well! The art was beautifully done as well! Overall great game! Good job ദ്ദി ˉ꒳ˉ )✧
I really loved your game and I am glad I found it! I think I could spend a day playing it if I didn't need to go to my day job ^^) One thing that bothered me are colliders on playground equipment, I believe they could be smaller just to be able to squeze through them. And what genre would you say is this game? Is that a puzzle roguelite?
Rlly glad you liked it!
This is a question I was having a lot myself haha. I was a little afraid of calling it a roguelite because I wouldn't say it has much replayability during the gathering stage, but I guess it checks out most of it's elements. I've just been calling it a cooking exploration game up untill now (this type of game also someties get passed to simulation so I'm just never shure).
Also true about the colliders, it was our first time trying generative stuff on a top downish kinda view, so we were not so shure how to go about it!
I really like the audio of the game, especially the type of music depending on the costumer. I love how Lord Glorpion looks, I wish I could understand what he said to me hahaha. Great game!
Really complete submission! I had trouble to get into the gameloop since pressing "q" broke the controls and the game for me. But after understanding the gameloop it was pretty intuitive. Really nice character presentation on the food mixing window. Overall a great experience.
Great submission and I really enjoyed this one! Characters were fun and the gameplay loop of collecting ingredients and figuring out the right recipes worked well. Also the soundtrack was very well done. Loved that every character had it's own track.
The objects laying on the floor in the gathering levels confused me a bit. I suppose they were decoration but they seemed like objects you could collect.
If you're considering continuing development, one suggestion for a full version would be to add a bit more logic to the worldbuilding. Characters were fun but felt very random so a clearer sense of who you are and why these characters exist in this spacewould make the whole experience feel much more intentional.
The core loop is solid, and if the gathering minigame were made a bit more interesting and varied to cut down on repetition, I could genuinely see this working as a full game!
Heyy, thx for the feedback!!
Changing the gathering mini game depending on the scene or type of ingredient was one of our core mechanics that got scrapped to fit the time schedule. But I definetly see you, we had all types of ideas, having the bar spin around, going to different places on the screen, having to hit multiple spots (DBD style I guess) or just other mini games. Glad you enjoyed it nonetheless!
Pretty interesting game with very cool art. Collecting ingredients provides a decent challenge, and figuring out the right flavor combinations to craft meals for different characters adds another layer of depth. Each character has their own unique personality, which makes the interactions more engaging. The environment in each level is also distinct and gives every area its own identity. Nice job!
I like the concept of the game and the visual is really cute. Great work :)
The title screen transition is really cool, having the world zoom in behind it. The whole loop is pretty addictive. Going down to gather ingredients, playing the little sliding mini-game to collect them, and then returning to cook for the characters works really well. And trying to raise the start meter as an overall goal gives it that extra push to keep going. Especially since the start is tied to unlocking different ground areas.
Mr. Mouse absolutely killed me. The "maybe... he don't believe in you all that much" dialogue made me laugh out loud. The characters in general are super interesting, and I love how they all have distinct personalities, and even the way their names are displayed is a reflection of that. I found myself wanting to progress just to get more dialogue and backstory.
I also like how each character has their own color palette and preferences, and figuring out the right ingredients to match them is satisfying. The music shifts are great too, and the SFX work well. Especially when time's running low on the ground level, things get a bit surreal.
Everything fits well together in this game; it's very stylish and weird in all the right ways.
Everything about this was awesome! The music, art, sound design, dialogue, and gameplay were all great! It might be a little too easy to get not enough ingredients, but still I was very engaged the whole time! Great job!
absolutely loved the art style and sfx! the gameplay loop its really cool, the playground area is cool but also quite scary, congrats!!!
