How does the game fit the theme?
Strange Places - You play as an alien in a world where the setting of his world is nothing but scorched earth, ash, and lava.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
sound but i only used CCC sound that didn't need any mentions or credits.

Really cool art! The alien feels lifelike with his blinking eyeballs. I even like how he turns around when you change directions. The lava, the frogs, and the boss are cool too!
Well done!
Well done, really nice entry ! A few suggestions :
- For me the fullscreen was not working properly so I has to zoom into the page.
- The shooting felt a bit hard to aim and I ran faster that my projectiles. Maybe you could experiment with increasing their speed and making the projectile shoot towards the mouse ?
- Sometimes I couldn't see where was the next platform so I jumped into the void :p You could try a different type of camera or build your level keeping that in mind.
Overall a really nice game, I really liked the boss fight with a wide variety of attacks! Keep it up!
Solid suggestions! i appreciate the feedback. This is my first ever game jam so i know i have a lot to learn and i am always willing to listen to feedback and i think you make very solid points.
- the fullscreen i think i exported it with the wrong window setting but sadly cant reupload :/
- yea i wanted more time to polish but life got in the way sadly. but i agree not only bullet speed needed tweaking but also the enemy shoot intervals.
- And fair point with the camera panning i believe you're referring to the jump before you kill the boss in the tutorial. but i agreed i could've panned out more or just made a make shift ledge on the other side to give the player more comfort jumping into it.
a neat concept, I liked the art a lot! I think you made an error in the shoot instructions, it was right click for me, not left click. nice work :)
i did mess up the instructions lol that was my bad but this was my first gamejam game ever so I'm happy with the overall outcome. needed more time to polish shoot intervals in my opinion too. both for enemies and players.
great work on your first game jam! would love to check out an updated version too if you adjust it :)
The title alone made me click, even without a thumbnail — that’s rare. And the core idea is surprisingly strong. I’m curious, did the mechanic come directly from the jam theme or did you iterate into it
Thank you! and i new i wanted to do a sort of hellscape world and ive been doing a lot of freestyle drawing recently so i came across the main player sprite just sketching out what i thought looked cool. just tried to build the world around similar colors just hue shifting for correct colors.
A little short, it seems shootwas right click for me?
That is correct that was a typo R + click is to shoot but i think they locked submissions :) arena is the main thing in this game to see how long you last!
Nice game, love the pixel art. You should do some screenshots and title graphics on the itch page so it looks good on the submissions page.
great idea! ill work on that today!
