How does the game fit the theme?
The game fits the “Strange Places” theme by placing players in the role of a priceless ancient idol navigating a chaotic, physics-driven world full of precarious traps and bizarre architecture. Every jump and bounce feels unpredictable, turning the environment itself into a strange, almost surreal playground.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Really interesting concept and game mechanics. The controls and challenges feel fairly balanced, though it’s a bit difficult at first. The checkpoint system is well done.
What’s especially impressive is that you were able to run this in WebGL and have it run so smoothly. Great job with the optimization too!
Overall, nice work!
This game made the long-forgotten childhood trauma caused by Getting Over It return to me after so many years... Idoling Around's outstanding visuals perfectly hide the anger-inducing nature of this game at first.
The game tends to freeze a bit in the beginning. Not a serious issue, but spoils the first impression a little.
Still, that's a solid project with awesome UI and consistent style - not something you see often in Game Jams
This game has great visuals, I like the environment and the tiny details. A really cool game to play... The concept is very unique and is definitely interesting. Great Work
Feedback:
Great job!
This is such a hilarious premise. The WebGL build ran surprisingly smooth for a 3D game, and the whole comic-book shader look is slick. The temple feels mysterious in a fun ancient-trial sort of way, and the voice lines plus little sounds from the idol had me laughing.
The movement is definitely chaotic in a good way. The controls are supposed to be tough in this one. It's basically a physics awkward-walker platformer style type of game, where the momentum is constantly helping you, and then immediately betraying you. But that's what makes every clean landing feel earned. Super memorable entry, and a great ragey-but-fun challenge. Really polished. Moai/10 would wobble again.
One of the stand outs game for me. Platformers are done again and again but this one gives a very unique on the genre. The situation itself is hilarious and moving through the level was kind of hard but that's the entire challenge. Moai/10 would spin again.
great and unique. I liked the world, the graphics, and the sounds. It's a little difficult, but it's great. great work.
Love the shader. Is it custom? Pretty cool game. I was not very good at it though lol
The shader is custom with help from YouTube . Its an outline shader that was done by our tech designer Will and we worked together on the post processing. Definitely helped make my art pop that bit more.
love the graphics i would love the play the longer version too :)
Found this quite difficult with the controls and camera fighting you but going in full screen made it a bit easier either way a very impressive game to make in 7 days.
This game is pretty cool, but fairly difficult! I'm not a very good idol, lol. I wasn't able to get very far, but the graphics look stunning! The addition of voice acting is also always a nice touch!
Nice idea well executed, it's polished and beautiful. There isn't much to say. I saw comments saying that controls are to hard but I think it's part of the game. Anyway good job !
WOAH! This game is majestic!!!!
Really cool idea playing as the idol moving through all those strange structures. The environments look great and the sound design adds a lot!!!
The movement was definitely challenging to get used to, especially figuring out which direction the idol would go when moving forward. It took me a bit of time to start getting the hang of it, but once things start clicking it becomes pretty entertaining !!!
Overall a very unique and memorable entry. The concept and presentation are strong, nice work!
ALSO, if you like brain-teasing puzzle platformers make sure to check out our game!
Pretty great , the controls might be a little hard ( It is sometimes chaotics) , but overall it's a really great game with beautiful graphics .
This looks really cool and the story is kinda funny too. The only thing I would suggest is that it might be better if the forward direction depended on where the player is looking, so when I press W I move forward regardless of the object’s orientation. As a player, I don’t really know what counts as “forward” for the object until I try moving, and having to go forward with S and deal with inverted controls can be a bit annoying. Overall it looks great and has a lot of charm, and even the gameplay with its flaws was very fun. Good job! :)
The visuals and music are superb! Unfortunately, the controls with this physics are far too frustrating for me, so I didn't get very far.
This game is AMAZING! The idea is so cool + it reminds me of the talking Easter Island statue from the movie Night at the museum - which made my experience even better! The only feedback-ish? thing I can say is that it's kinda hard to get used to the controls. Aside from that the game is a 10 :)
I loved audio broooo
This dude is breakdancer or what?! Why he spinning on his head like crazy xD
I was fighting camera a lot, sometimes it was in texture. But controlls were totaly chaotic, but fun tho. Well done evironment, surely like it!
stunning audio visual experience! the gamplay was slightly too frustrating for me, but i get that thats the point of the game :D
