lovely art direction and music. agree with the previously mentioned notion that the hp mechanic was handled in a really nice way. I would have liked more variety with the enemies but understand the time limit issue. I just tried in on my laptop with the trackpad and my experience was subpar. will try with a mouse later! :)
I especially liked the way characters from your team are lost as an HP mechanic. It looks much better than just a health bar. There might be a bug with enemies, because after the halfway point, you stop encountering them. It's a fun and cool game! Nice pixel art and sound.
Thanks for playing! The cave section was intended to specifically be a navigation challenge, so no enemies spawn there. Did they spawn in the marsh area afterward?
I played for a short time and didn't get there. But I added the game to my collection, so I'll play it again and find out.
This game looks amazing! Really liked the music too but never managed to hear the end because it was maybe a little too hard - the top half of the screen being inaccessible doesn't leave you much room to dodge. Still fun though, I tried multiple times to see how far I could get and almost made it to the fourth zone.
The idea of the lives system being tied to the crew members is superb - makes me feel bad every time the wee turtle falls off the first time you take damage.
The name is so clever, I love the dynamic music. I feel like the ship could go higher in the sea, and the lightning is a little too quick and doesn't give you time to react.
100% agreed. The ship not going higher was an early decision that turned out to be unnecessary, but never got fixed, and the latter was just we ran out of time. We thought about putting something more than a tiny sliver at the top of the bolt, but couldn't get it in in time. Thanks for playing!
The character and boat art is really lovely!
Love the pixel art and the aesthetic!
Very cute Shmup! Love love the little crew. The final battle was awesome as well!
I kept dying to the lightning in the second area, there wasn't really enough time to react or dodge so it just felt unlucky to get hit by it? I think that was the only unfair feeling part of the game.
Great job!
Thanks for playing! That was one of those "oh crap, we forgot the thing" moments so we didnt get to add the anticipation buildup for the lightning. I'm glad you made it to the end!
