I love the visual and the atmosphere! Well done:D

Amazing, one of my favorites from this jam so far. The target locking and big eyes made me feel like I was playing some new zelda game where link could turn into an eye. I do wish that we could've used the jump more, but thats a small gripe. The simple mechanic of having the eye only shoot when it was looking at targets made the movement all the more interesting too. I'd love to see this fleshed out with more stuff like the jump. Great game!

Developer

Thanks !! i would love to eventually try fleshing out the jumping mechanic and figure out what kinds of other ways to use the targeting mechanic.

I was stuck trying to shoot and once I figured it out it was a big AHA moment.. very smart mechanic

Developer

nicee thanks!

Submitted(+1)

Hell yh! That was great! Really smart mechanic having to orient yourself to shoot, but also keep moving. Love the entire eyeball theme. And the atmosphere was top notch. Great work!

Developer

Thank youuu !!!

I loved the  mechanic. The boss music belongs on cryochamber, amazing

Developer

Thanks!! the music i got from artlist by Dan Mayo - Leaving

Submitted(+1)

Very creepy but very cool! I loved having to adjust my movement just to be able to aim as well. The music for the final boss was perfect. Really great entry for the jam, and I hope you continue making levels for this!

Developer(+1)

thanks!! i was a little skeptical about the central mechanic of moving is aiming at first so I'm really glad you liked it !

Submitted(+1)

This is my favorite game this game jam! I love the artstyle and how strange and creepy the eye creatures are. The aiming mechanic is clever and fits really well with the game design. And the boss at the end was cool too. The only thing was switching aim between multiple enemies was a bit glitchy sometimes. I would love to play more if you ever update this in the future!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! im glad you liked the boss cause i really wanted to make this experience feel full despite being very short. from all the playtesting ive seen the camera is definitely one of the areas that could use the most improvement, its probably one of the areas i struggle most with game dev but i will for sure try to focus on improving that for my next game jams.

This is really nice! I love the system as a whole. Moving and aiming is a shared system? Count me in! The eyeball theme is also really nice. It ties the game together super nicely, and makes every element of the game really obvious without needing much text. Well done! Also, the boss battle felt fun and enjoyable too! Rarely I see a game doing everything so nicely in a game jam, so kudos for that.

Other things I like:

  • Simple controls with controller support, never tried keyboard but controller plays super smoothly
  • The difficulty of the game feels nice, not too hard but challanging at the same time
  • Nice checkpoint placement

Suggestions:

  • Jump mechanic felt out of place as it does not align with other mechanics. It's also not used in the final battle, which is a shame
  • Normal enemies (the tall one) should have a defeat animation, where it currently just disappears
  • Finally boss lacks a bullet hell spread shot, which makes it kind of easy once you figure out how to side step

Anyway, this is a really good entry, and I bet with some more content, this could very well be a good steam game! Well done!

Developer

Thank you for this amazing comment!!! I love your suggestions and agree completely, i think the jump mechanic would be aligned more if you were like shooing some sort of trigger that shot you up from the floor or just incorporated into the world design better. one of the limitations i set for myself for this jam was no animating, but it really would add so much to the experience i almost wish this was a two week jam

Very cool and unique game! At first I didnt know how to open the door but once I saw what the game wanted from me it was pretty direct and easy. I loved the atmosphere and I love the contros too! I didn't play anything like that before.

What I missed is a health bar and also I would like if I had like a lot more health but the enemies didn't keep the damage I did to them; i feeled like it was more a thing about trying a lot of times more than having skill

Developer

thanks! good point about the health i wish i had more time to make that clear

Wow, this is one of my favorite games so far. When I started, I thought this would be just one of those hamster ball type of games... oh boy, was I wrong.

First of all, you created a fun, simple to understand, and original mechanic that is multi use for attacks, for the hook, and for puzzles.

Secondly, you made two bosses and one mini boss that are not only mechanically very good, but also look awesome and are satisfying to hit.

You also made all the sound effects yourself, and they are just perfect and add so much to the vibe.

I didn’t even mention the style and art, which are also perfect and very vibey.

If I have to nitpick something, the lock-on mechanic on the last boss can be a bit confusing and not clear on what I'm actually locked on.

As a fellow solo dev, I say to you with a full heart, congratulations man, this is pure genius and a very very good game! :)

Developer

Thank you so much!! really appreciate this, you made my day

Great mechanics! I just wish the enemy projectiles were not the same colour as mine, still had a lot fun!

Developer

thanks! and this is such a good point, after i submitted and went to bed i was just thinking wait why didnt i make the enemy projectiles purple

Submitted

interesting game, reminiscent of Balance. The only problem is that if you get close to the wall, you can see what's behind it. Also, at first, I got stuck in the corner.

Developer

thanks, yea i really need to figure out a camera system with collisions because everytime i tried to get cinemachine to have collisions it becomes so jerky and terrible

Submitted

The boost crystals were my favorite. I'm a bit on the line when it comes to the gimmick of having to rotate yourself correctly to shoot. It's unique for sure, but I'm not sure if it's fun. Either way, a large number of enemies is great. That boss tho, didn't expect it, which was a nice surprise, but I wish it didn't have so much HP, it just became tedious at some point.

8.5/10  :D

Developer

thanks ! i feel the same way about the rotate mechanic im not really so sure about it. my goal was kind of to replicate the difficulty of aiming of early retro horror games like resident evil to push the game closer to horror instead of actiony.
