This is really interesting game. I like music, sfx, visual and the atmosphere. It is fun to driving around and listen stories. Also I like system of choosing questions and answering them. Nice game.

I think I love everything about this: the music and the sfx, the visual and the animation of the passengers, the idea of driving to ask question and the weirdness of it all. You answered in another comment you could expand on this, it's definitely a good base to make a really intense game.

Thanks so much! I promised my friend that if we win the jam then we can make a bigger version xD

Submitted(+1)

It was fun just driving around and listening to people :)

However, once it didn't trigger the NPC events, and towards the end it crashed once.

Developer

I think you just reached the end. No more npc spawns and the game quit() itself, that just doesnt work in web version unfortunately

after i got all passengers i just kept driving around for minutes without paying much attention, then i looked to my right and almost had a heart attack. expecting the unexpected didnt prepare me for that, great game

Developer

Haha love to hear people get jumpscared there

The emotional depth of the narrative and the strange setting took me by surprise... in a good way. Aesthetically, melodically, and psychologically compelling. I'd love to see an expanded version of this.

Developer

Thanks for the kind words. Considering of making a bigger version if we do good in the jam.

This was cool! At first I thought I was just an uber driver picking up a dude with a weird head. Then slowly realized it was a different kind of drive. I played on web and when I reached the end I thought the game crashed before reading the comments here. I went and played again to see all of the different story options and drove around at the end looking for a secret ending before accepting it. Well done! Didn't expect a game like this in the jam but it was really nice!

Developer

Yeah we wanted to be a little vague with the setting. Sorry about the ending, I'm really regretting making the game quit() in the web version also. No secret ending sadly...

This was really great! Clever interpretation of the theme, and the whole atmosphere from visuals, sound, and writing was really well executed.

Developer

Thank you

I do love a narrative driven game.

There's a lot to like here, the art and the sounds design are doing a great job setting the atmosphere.
The writings pretty good and allows you to see more sides to each character on a 2nd play through.

I played on web though and thought my game crashed until I read the comments here.

Nice work

Developer

Glad to hear you were interested enough to play the game twice. Thanks so much!

A bit of a jumpscare there at the end!  I spent a while thinking I had missed a passenger, then turned around and finally got a glimpse of the inside of my car.  Really enjoyed the narrative, a good spin on the journey to the afterlife idea.

Developer

Haha I'm glad the ending surprised you! Thanks for playing

The story was gripping, I have soft spot for Charon-esque characrers and this game delivered and left me wanting for more people to meet.

Developer

Glad to hear. You picked up well on the inspiration :)

I played the web version. Really good job, I understand it's a prototype but I'd like to learn more about the characters and have a bit more fleshed out writing. The art direction and controls are also great. The only thing I don't understand why there a rocks placed on the roads since they don't add too much mechanically. Also realized our games are both car related, so extra points for that :))

Developer(+1)

This was the first time we really attempted any type of storyline, so it's safe to say that writing isn't our biggest strength yet haha. The rocks were a late addition because I just wanted to somehow make the driving somehow even a little more interactive, but maybe they didn't add anything. Thanks for playing!

I really enjoyed the story, it drips just enough context in each interaction to keep it interesting.  I only realised who I was playing as and what I was doing mid-way through the second passengers journey.  Then picking up the third passenger made me realise the connection between the stories, great work.

The quit to desktop at the end is a bit glitchy on the browser version of the game - I thought it crashed so I played again on the Windows version instead and realised it was intentional.  Getting to see the other choices was interesting at least - its strange how my interpretation of a character can change by a lot with just a few sentences different.

Developer(+1)

Oh yeah my bad about the ending. I should have done something different for the web port. But I'm glad to hear you found the game interesting. Thanks for the feedback!

Really nice vibes. Love the idea and creative narrative choice. Had a few stutters and the ending was a bit confusing, but overall a really cool game.

Developer

I can imagine the game may be buggier on the web version. Thanks for playing!
