It looks good, smooth gameplay. The mechanics are unusual. I've only seen a few games with similar mechanics. But it's cool. It's fun to play.

Took me an embarrassingly long time to discover you could wall jump but once I understood I managed to get to the ending with 113 coins and 2 mice. I'm guessing I missed a lot when when falling through the balconies.
Speed up and charge jump being the same action makes the game really interesting to control. There are a few tough spots (especially between the two dumpsters on the bottom left under all the balconies) but I had fun figuring out the mechanics with trial and error. The crossing road bit was a nice change of pace and still stuck to the one button philosophy.
Autowalk is also a really cool way for the character to move, I liked trying to see what jumps were needed coming the other way and then finding the quickest way to bonk an object to go back when I failed. It seems like it made the level design a lot trickier but you did really well here. Also, nice touch to have the credits in-game on the billboards at the end.
Thanks for the detailed feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the one-button control mechanic, it was a lot of fun to experiment with. 113 coins is a solid score, and I think it's not actually possible to get all of them in a single run (there are two ways to get to the traffic light and you can't get back afterwards).
Good point on the wall jump discovery, I really wanted to include an in-game tutorial for the controls, but didn't have time for it in the end.
The level design was quite challenging, and I couldn't really start with it until I had the movement physics more or less locked in, so some parts are a bit rough around the edges and more difficult than I intended… I'm glad you still made it to the end. :)
Took me a little while to get a hang of the controls. Thought the physics was quite predictable, which made for a cool experience once I managed to control my cat!
This was super cool, I never would have thought to make a one button game. Great take and great art style. Love the depth. Nice job!
Congratulations on your first jam game, awesome!
The control was a bit tricky I have to admit. There is this game dev phenomenon where you get used to something and forgot all about getting used to it :D Then others come along having a hard time getting used to it.
I didn't get all the way, but had some fun running around and jumping. Nice that the world reacts when I bump into stuff too.
Good job finishing a game like this! :)
This was a pretty cute game and you managed to make such a nice little experience with just a single button, thats so cool! Difficult at first but quick to grasp and master with a satisfying way to traverse the world. Well done! Thanks for making and sharing it :)
Amazing work for a first jammer solo dev! Although it's not my favourite genre, it's really impressive how much interaction you made possible with only one button, and it all felt seamless at all times.
The cat and the rat were great. Fun game, a bit difficult.
A great one button game, so much control with just a single press, a great bit of design that iterates over the level by forcing you to make use of all it's quirks.
This was a lot of fun and I almost went for a full coin run until I missed a bunch off the balcony section and I couldn't get back.
Needs some options for stuff like sound and the mouse is so loud compared to everything else. Also maybe adding a visual indicator for your jump power would be helpful but it wasn't so much of a problem in the game.
Nice work on the entry.
Delightful little experience! The controls were actually great for me, including the functionality to drop down quickly space was a great insight that made chaining jumps with speed really satisfying. I had quite the shock when I got run over the first time, wasn't expecting that with the rest of the vibe of the game lol.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I didn't have much time left when I made the cars sequence, so it was the easiest option to just play a sound effect and respawn, but I agree that something else would have been a better fit for the rest of the game, where I've intentionally avoided deadly obstacles.
haha kitty was cute! and I was actually enjoying going back and forth trying to figure out how far it goes! I noticed that the sound stopped looping after some point, but i think it was still fun to play without it so it didn't really bother me. Good job on the submission!
kitty :)
The way whiskaway controls is really unique, and I definitely suck at it but it was fun to learn. Crazy work for a solo submission :)
I almost forgot, there's a section with a green dumpster and a walljump between two pipes that I couldn't for the life of me get past. Well, I did get past it but then I tried to go back so I could get a screenshot of it and fell back down haha
But up until that point I had a blast, goomba stomping rats and running all around town.
