I found this while scrolling the new games section. If you ever played Bomber crew or Badlands Crew, you do what they do but better. I enjoyed moving your minions around and working the train a lot more in this game than those games on steam i mentioned. Its good work, keep it up buddy.

I like the concept, the art and visuals are on-theme and very good.

The right click to issue commands has a bit of an issue atleast in the web versions, maybe if the mouse was captured (at least in Safari it was bringing up the context menu).

Excellent work!

Very cool lands! Very compelling art. Very polished game that you put together in one week!
Now...It did take me a couple of deaths to figure out how to work things because everything is tiny and hard to see.

Very fun game, nice looking and smooth gameplay

Very coolio! Loved the art! You should try out our game as well!

First off, congrats on your first jam!

I've just come off a streak of reviewing games that don't really work properly - so this was a really nice palette cleanser for me 😀

Art is, obviously, awesome. Extremely diverse and visually interesting. The character's, monsters, and the train itself all look awesome. This is one of the those games that it's very easy to take interesting screenshots of. Background music is good. Catchy little ear-worm that doesn't get annoying.

The gameplay loop is quite compelling. I like these kinds of high-stress, active management games a lot. There are a lot of places you could take this concept, which is one of the ways you know you have hit on a decent jam idea.

I think there me be some kind of bug with assigning character's to the shield generator and fires, as sometimes the shield bar didn't increase any faster with someone assigned to it and sometimes fires just kept going no matter what I did.

Nice work friends!

This is a really nice game. The fist one so so far that isn't frustrating. I like this micromanager mechanic.  A bit bigger visual would be great, and more visual clues. Some I have only discovered at the end of the game. Many potential for future expansion. Good job 😁

And well done with the cover art. I wanted to stop reviewing games, than it caught my eyes.

Yeah, it seems like we really should have put an outline on those. Thank you for playing and leaving a nice comment, we appreciate it!

I had fun playing this game! Great job.

The graphics were great and the mechanics were all smooth. I like how simple the controls were as well.

Glad you liked it! Thank you for stopping by!

Very cute and fun game! I liked it!

Pixel art is very on point and it feels pretty neat.

The bad thing is that I think it is too easy; i would erase a crew member so the player have to be more carefull about what ask each member to do; I was able to beat it first try without even reading the instructions below.

Developer

I was actually pondering that, but came to a conclusion that it might be too hard for the people who are not used to management games, so I felt like it was better to go a bit easier on difficulty. But hey, you can be proud of your skill! I know not all of the people who tested the game managed to do that good of a job.  Thank you for playing and your kind words!

Incredible art! That’s what made me click at first and then I discovered a potential gem.

I love the atmosphere and the idea of managing the crew members. It reminds me a bit of Faster Than Light. I don’t know if that was an inspiration or not.

I loved the blend of pixel art and hand-drawn backgrounds. You clearly have a strong visual identity.

The only thing I could point out is maybe the gameplay, which is a great idea but could be deeper for even more fun.

It’s so cool that you’re also part of the Godot family! We made our game using Godot as well.

Thank you for nice comment, we are glad you liked it. Yes, FTL was a big inspiration for the concept, it is still one of my favourite games. And the visual part is heavily inspired by The Final Station.

Visual identity was a bit of a downside-turned-upside, my gf is more into traditional art and I wanted to do pixel art, so we had a compromise, I mean, with a theme like this it fits. And gameplay, man, the amount of content we had to cut, makes my designer heart weep, but such is the nature of a game jam I suppose!

Godot really is great, hope we work more with it soon!

Great job on the art and style. I liked your backgrounds. In the beginning, it was really unclear what I needed to do. A small tutorial would help with that. It was also hard to see which parts of the train were "interactable" and what they specifically did. The ammo reloading was very clear because of the animation, but I still don't know what the box in the second train carriage does. Maybe highlight the different "tasks" a crew member can do when you click on him, and add a small label to that thing when you hover over it,  that would help with that!

Developer

Thank you for kind words! Yeah, I feel like just putting info in description does not give good enough info in a management game, unfortunately got cut due to time constraints. Will be the first thing we add after jam is over, for sure. And highlighting tasks is a great idea as well! Thank you for the feedback, glad you enjoyed the game.

Loved the different stages! The jellyfish and faces and... cat? celebrity? people? were super cool to see. At the start I was just locked into not dying, but as I stabilized the train stabilized, I really enjoyed watching the sights fly by. I need to know though... what's the max speed.... I think I hit like 1995 but couldn't break 2k.

Developer(+1)

Hey there! Glad you liked our game! The max speed is hardcoded to 2k, but its made in a way that it becomes wayyy harder to accelerate when going full speed ahead (you surely noticed that!), so I am not even sure you can manage to get there without dying.
