I saw your post on discord so I decided to try this. I liked the setup for the game. I always plan to open and end my games with a cutscene but somehow I never seem to have the time for that. Moving the parrots around felt pretty good and the low poly style suited the game. Although the trees in the start were maybe a bit too simple.
I don't think many people are playing the games in this jam anymore so I'd appreciate if you gave my game a chance also. Thank u

Developer

Thank you, yes I checked your game and gave comment and rate.

Congrats on completing your first jam!  Cute game, Kākāpō are great, really interesting animals.

I preferred the side-scrolling minigame over the protect the base one.  I lost a bird straight away but was still able to collect all the food and logs.  Would be interesting to see how you expand this in more levels; more birds to juggle, more tasks to complete etc.

really cute game, with some nice art direction and music that slaps. I'm not sure if I was supposed to be able to control the parrot in the front wagon. clicking it did nothing. thanks for uploading it and I hope Brian isn't up to some shenanigans again

Developer

Thank you! Control the parrots missing one important feature in game and that is fog of war, now it is not visible in the game, but there are limited area for parrots to move around the stretcher. We plan to fix and improve game after game jam ends.

Nice game, guys :)

I really enjoyed the dynamic of managing your parrots before the cart leaves them behind, the music rocks and the intro cutscene was pretty great haha

The ground texture in the intro cutscene made the grass' fluffy and painterly look really flourish - what caused you guys to use the flat brown color in the level?

Developer(+1)

Thank you! The grass and cutscene intro was made before we get models and assets for level, it was really closed to deadline and unfortunately we didn’t make this change. But we are planning improve and fix game after game jam ends.

There are several things that missing, we have planned more levels, resources usage for parrots, debuff for lost parrots, etc. We got our lesson and we need to improve our planning and of course project scope.

It's a pitty there's only one level, I was hoping for more nights to defend the camp.

I can't leave witout saying: the music is f**king nice! congrats to the composer I think there is a moment with a couple of notes that  seem to be a reference to E33, if that is your intention,  just know that someone here catched it!

have a good jam guys!

Developer

im the Composer and your comment made my day. I am happy that there is a Person who noticed ! :)

the grass looks good and the parrots are cute (except brian he is ugly and dumb)

Cute idea with the parrots.
It was a bit hectic gathering resources, and I don't think it made much difference ^^" But overall, I find the idea interesting.

Developer

Yes, gathering resources does not have an impact on the game right now. Unfortunelty our planning and scope of the game was badly, so we didn’t manage a lot of planned features and things, like more levels, resource usage, debuff and penalization for lost parrots, etc.

We are working on fixes and improvements for the game. After game jam ends, we want to release update.
