Seems like my keyboard is incorrectly detected as QZSD. Perhaps giving an alternate keybinds (like arrow keys for any keyboard) would work just in case for your next game jam. However i have to say i like the theme here. Lotsa snowwwwww

I couldn't move using WASD key. But I like the cozy winter vibe of this game. Nice work!
I'd appreciate it if you could play our game, too :)

Liked the vibe of the game regarding art style and music, made it feel really cozy with the theme. I couldnt make the WASD work so the other controls made it a little more difficult to complete it, but overall really great work with the mirros and maze!

Developer

Hi, thanks for playing ! Yeah regarding the controls, it's a bug that was discovered after the deadline... But glad to hear that you enjoyed the atmosphere !

I like maze part combined with mirror rotation, it keeps game varied. Maze's ends could be covered better, because invisible walls aren't fun. Music keeps cozy vibes. If I can suggest something, you could try making game harder by rotating maze's parts based on player's actions. Good work!

Of course, I'm open to any suggestions, these are great ideas ! Thanks for playing !

As the resident weirdo, I actually really enjoyed the weird controls! Felt like the game was challenging me, I took it as a feature rather than a bug! Great work!

Developer

Haha glad that you enjoyed this "feature" then. Thanks for playing my game !

I think there was an issue with the controls, they aren't set to WSAD for movement. I was able to kind of get movement working but it was super awkward so between that and trying to navigate the invisible maze I kind of gave up after rotating a few mirrors.

Developer

Hi, thanks for testing my game! Yeah i also detected the controls bug where it's locked in WASD, even though it's supposed to be set correctly...
I hope that despite this, you were able to grasp the essence of the game, in keeping with the theme.

This is a neat idea! I like that the game has you navigating two kings of puzzles simultaneously, between solving the mirror puzzle and navigating the maze. I had fun!

Here's some constructive criticism, if you'd like it:

  • I assume the ZQSD controls are intended for a different keyboard format than what I have. Unfortunately the WASD controls did not work for me, which made it very difficult to play on my QWERTY keyboard.
  • It wasn't immediately clear to me that the maze under the ice was supposed to be a reflection of a hidden maze above the ice. Now that I realize that, I do think it's cool you incorporated the reflection element in this way, and I think it's a fun idea. However, it took me a bit of time to realize why I couldn't walk across, so it may be good to consider how you can make it more clear to the player what the maze is supposed to represent.
  • I felt that the anime aesthetic for the player characters was a little disjointed with the stylized low-poly environment (this may just be a personal preference, but thought it was worth mentioning)

Overall, I thought this was a creative concept and had fun solving the puzzle. I think you did a good job with the cozy winter vibes (and I appreciated the cinematic camera angles at the end)! With some more polish I would definitely play more of a game like this.

Hi, thanks for testing my game! I wanted to mix those 2 types of reflection in a single game and see what that could make.
Glad to hear that you had fun!

All constructive criticism is welcomed!

Yeah for the controls, there's a bug where it's locked in WASD, but was set for all type of keyboards...

With the time I had available, I tried to do my best, but I agree that it could be more visually intuitive.
It's the same for the assets, it's a personal preference & i used what i found from assets store.

Despite that, i'm really glad that you appreciated the concept !
