How does the game fit the theme?
Roadside Museums are some of the strangest places you can find on a road trip. They are all just tourist traps... or are they? This museum has a real Eldritch Egg that needs to be kept calm.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Greatest mirical about this game is the fact that I understood how to play it at all. (use a visual tutorial instead of just words)

I like the egg mechanic, however ingnoring the egg did not seem to have any consequences (maybe have not implemented better)

Think the flow of the game needs some work. I think it was a nice concept. Running a store with an emotional egg feels very on theme.  But some simplification would have been good for this Jam I think. I got to the part where I enter the credit cards a couple times and got a bit lost.

Thank you for the feedback!
We ended up thinking the same exact thing. Ran out of time to make any meaningful changes but we are debating turning this into a fuller game experience for fun.
Learned so much during this Jam though!

Absolutely, best of luck!

Nice little game, couldn't progress though

The tutorials suck and mostly don't exist. When a ticket appears got to the front counter near the egg and hit e. When the gift shop is up. Got to the back with the foot cast. Grab from the box with the icon being it to the bench that lit up and wait, then being it to the next bench when that finishes.

Then go to the counter in the next room and hit e on that basket.

Nice!

I really like the name of the game! I'm a sucker for overly long game names, the general theme of the game is nice, very gravity falls esque!! I think the egg is a good idea as it means players need to be quick with the tasks, especially with the number pad task if you have a long queue and you mess up a few times the egg adds a lot of pressure which is cool!! I didn't entirely understand the gift system, I saw there were 2 workbenches and they did something when I interacted with them, not sure what... I may just be dumb though lol. But I like and get the vision and the execution is solid, good work :)

Thank you so much!
We ran out of time making this for a gam jam and were not able to make any sort of tutorial that would help you haha. You are not dumb!
The goal with the gift mini-game was a version of making something in Overcooked.
Each bench is essentially an "Oven". You put an item on the bench and a 5 second timer goes, once that timer is finished the item is ready to be picked up again.

The gift job requires you to pick up the item to the left of the benches first (Has a icon that is supposed to be a big-foot footprint.)

Bring that to the first bench and place it, The bench will cook the item for 5 seconds until you see a green check mark.

Pick up the item and place it on the 2nd bench and it cooks for another 5 seconds until you see a green check mark.

Lastly, pick up the item and bring it the counter in the gift shop room, one room north of the crafting room.

The name and idea was very good, I laughed when i read it for the first time. But  i don't understand the egg, and I only get to complete the first missions, after that I get lost. But it is good, if you get to polish it, it will be better

The egg is a threat.  If the egg bar fills you lose the game. Thats all it does.

The game play is doing the 7.25 an hour job of helping customers. Like entering in the credit card number and making the big foot cast. Yeah we just didnt have enough time to get real tutorials/diegetic hints into the game.

I spoused it was because of time. But don't worry, the game is pretty good, actually I will play The International Ohio Roadside History Museum of Non-Euclidean Sciences again

Ah yes, just another regular museum from Ohio with nothing strange about it at all :)

I liked the music and the pixel art! However, for some reason the egg wasn't really doing anything when I played. I held down E at the beginning of my run but after that, I never had to interact with the egg ever again? Also, I was a little confused at first on where to go to interact with the cash register and customers, so I just walked around everywhere until the prompt to interact popped up. I wanted to look at the instructions again, but couldn't figure out how, so I had to reboot the game.

Just needs a bit of polishing! But beyond that, I love how unique working at a museum with an eldritch egg is. Very cool idea.

The egg bar slowly fills as it awakens. If the bar fills you lose. Yeah there's not away to bring them back. That was an 11th hour add!

We are actually thinking of making this an actual game and not just a game jam gam.

That's exciting! I was also planning on making my jam entry an actual game too. Good luck with yours!!
