Incredible work for your first-ever jam! love the art and you managed to build a complete game loop, including a tutorial, that’s no small feat at all!. The controls felt really fluid, I loved it!

For feedback, I’d suggest adding some knockback when hitting enemies or perhaps a block mechanic. Also, when attacking while moving, the character tends to 'slide' on the floor; locking the movement during the attack animation would make it look much more grounded. One last thing: watch out for the platform placement, as I kept hitting my head on the ones above me. I really liked that you respawn on the last platform you fell from. Great job and congratulations!

Good game! I found a few bugs with the player respawn,  sometimes I keep dying if a monster is attacking me during respawn. You might also want to add some ceilings, because at one point I flew into the void. Despite that, good work!

Nice first jam submission, there's a lot to like here.

The movement feels really smooth, and the main character animation and little dust/jump effects add a lot of game feel. Combat felt decent too, especially with the knockback giving you a second to breathe. And the gravity tiles were a legit surprise, flipping upside-down in a sewer platformer is such a fun twist.

The in-game tutorial was helpful, and I can definitely see this being expanded with more levels that lean into the gravity mechanic even harder. Great work for a first jam!

Thank you so much!

Great job on your first jam! The character movement feels incredibly snappy and smooth, and I really enjoyed the gravity-flip mechanics—it added a cool twist to the platforming. The jump dust and screen shake effects also give the game a nice polished feel. Congrats on finishing your project! I’d be happy if you could check out my game and share your rating too. Best of luck!

Nice Platformer. Lived the anti-gravity

It wasn't clear where was supposed to go, so I jumped over a section that looked like it would trap me (been told that was the end of game now) and continued walking right and end up off the level where the camera wouldn't follow me.

But with that was still a very good first jam submission, well done

Love the use of gravity mechanics and would like to see more levels that expand upon it. Sound effects or a visual indicator other than the health bar would be great to show when the player loses health.

Thank you!

Nice platformer! You nailed the movement, it felt really smooth. A suggestion would be to make the player not able to stand on the enemies forever, so they do eventually have to get off and attack, but it depends on how you are envisioning the combat. Good work! Hope you had fun with your first jam!

Reminds me of an old Castlevania game, i had trouble attacking the enemies without taking damage no matter how hard i tried to dodge. Had fun playing!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! If you jump on top of the enemies, you don’t get hurt

Visuals

1 ... (main menu) without hp bar & text animation:

1.1 . example: lets do simple zoom text tween/interpolation between 0.8-1.2.

2 ... (game): I love this effect when player hits ground

3 ... try to remove all repetitive tile patterns -> how to fix it? lets say 10 tiles for same center tile type

Design

1 ... why is left side out of map visible (is this intended)?

2 ... interesting gravity invert mechanics -> I love it

3 ... add check points (I hate been bad in game -> then from LV3 go again in tutorial and do all again)

Controls

1 ... very responsive -> they are already giving feeling to player of character control

Gameplay

1 ... player jump into toxic poison -> monster jumps after player -> player re-spawns -> monster stays dead (is this intended)?

Sound

1 ... There is no sound -> add sound effect & OST/BG sound (or its a bug?)

Bugs

1 ... eye monsters sees player -> monster jumps into toxin -> player move forward (check Gameplay 1.)

2 ... monster standing on player hat & do 0 dmg -> animation is bugged that it seems like monster is flying.

Thanks for the feedback!

There's a lot here that impressed me - character animation, the jump dust effect, a bit of screen shake juice. That attention to those extra touches that improve the game feel means you're on the right path. Having one or two extra animations for the enemies - an attack and a death - would have been great as well.

I think the main thing that could have improved this would be some kind of checkpoint system, as it was quite disheartening to start again at the beginning of the tutorial level. Some sound and music also would have gone a long way, but I assume you just ran out of time in the end.

Congrats on your first jam! You should be proud for making it :)

Very good for your first jam! Character movement itself felt really good. However at some parts the jump&run elements were kinda too hard IMO (like at the ending). Not that it was unbeatable, but you had to jump pretty frame perfect I think. Give us just a couple more frames room to land the jump and I'm good :D

Some visual effects when an enemy is hit would also be pretty cool. Oh and also you can stand on the turtle-kinda enemy. I was chilling on one, it dashed down into the sludge and I kept respawning in the sludge until I died and had to start over. Oh and also would be pretty cool to not start in the tutorial level again.

Overall a pretty good experience, congrats on completing your first jam! :)

Short game but it has a fleshed out character controller. I like the fact that you can stand on the rats. Wish the attack button wasn't X. Some audio would really elevate the experience but I see you got plenty of feedback regarding that. Good entry, keep up the good work

really enjoyed the gravity shift mechanic!

I've only missed a bit of music, but i loved the originality to implement a gravity changing mechanic! it made it fun to solve the last level in different ways using it

Thanks so much

Cool idea with the gravity swapping. I did end up falling infinitely into the sky on one of the levels so it might've been good to have something to stop that happening

Developer

Thanks!

Nice game. Very good concept for a game jam, where you start simple and can always add more content / features later. One thing that I did miss was audio though, that would've added a lot.

Thanks for the feedback!

Nice game, the gamefeel is great and the gameplay is easy to understand. As someone else said, some audio would make it even better. Good job!

Developer

Thanks! Loved your game btw
