Clean & cohesive. Really well done, especially for one person !

Feel free to test our game !

Nice little game. Loved the visuals and the blending from slow narrative side scroller to platformer. I liked how you played with nighttime/daytime lighting too.

The platformer controls are a bit rough, barely clipping a tile and losing all momentum felt bad especially in that one section where you have to double jump under obstacles hanging from the ceiling. That was almost rage-game like which didn't fit the rest of the game in terms of difficulty.

The character's monologue and the story in general felt a bit improvised and uninspired. I think it would've worked better if they were talking to an NPC or something instead of just describing their confusion and what they see.

Still a great entry, especially for something made on your own in just a week!

Visuals and sound effects as well as the animations are beautiful.

Bitter points:

  • Intro is to long, not much of story, not much of unique visuals, and is too long, this is unfortunately a potential drop point.
  • No hints on how to jump in game, and as the game opens in a full screen mode, there is no option to check the game description - another possible drop point.
  • Visually mixing platform with the background (section after the first lift) is generally a bad idea, it took me some time that there are platforms to the right from the wall of the left. For those who is not that patient - another drop point.
  • The section after the third lift is to complicated, I did not figured how to pass it and that was the game for me unfortunately.

This was a great game. It was so beautiful and calming. Although that last platforming bit was way too hard (I had to get help to do it). The story was also interesting. I would love to see a longer game made from this. I think it would be so cool! The music in the title screen is beautiful and the sounds throughout the whole game was quite calming. The only critique I would give is that the bird ambience didn't loop properly and the text was a bit slow. I think the slow text works really well in the beginning to set the tone, but it gets a tiny bit annoying as it goes on, especially when it sometimes prevents you from moving. But its not too big of a deal since the game is pretty short. Overall, this was a great little experience!

The visual is so pretty. I enjoy the story and the platform part is a bit hard but fun to play. Great work :)

Such a visually striking game, absolutely beautiful. As someone who doesn't play a lot of platformers, I got stuck at the end for a little longer than I'd like to admit, and I'm glad I stuck around to finish it. Such a lovely story as well, well done!

absolutely beautiful visuals- the camera felt perfectly paced and the pixel art and lighting was absolutely stunning. the jumping and running around did feel super good- maybe a little slidey though? coming from someone that wanted to main luigi in smash and couldn't get around his slippy-ness tho </3 incredibly lovely game, very impressive too!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! I also play with Luigi and I understand you well, I will make sure to polish those details in the future, thank you for playing and good luck in the Jam!

Strong fundamentals,  clear narrative direction and smooth controls.  The platforming difficulty spike is a little harsh but all in all a well polished game.

Congratulations on the game. It's very beautiful, well-directed cinematically. I found the game's atmosphere very interesting. It wasn't dark, it was delicate in dealing with the theme of death. It's worth exploring this game and developing it into something deeper and more exciting. It has a lot of potential. Good work.

I the visuals as others say is quite cool,  i also agree its a bit slow, but i can see the effort thats gone into it. I like the effect where the text comes up but you're allowed to keep moving, and its still readable without being annoying :)

Thank you very much! I really appreciate the support

That outdoor background caught my attention immediately. The lightning through the window with the dust particles floating in it looked really nice. There's a lot of detail in the visuals here. It's really impressive that you made all that from scratch. The art direction feels cohesive, and some of these scenes genuinely look beautiful. The platforming had some fun moments too. It felt like the level design made full use of the jump kit instead of just giving it to you and forgetting about it. Awesome this was done in only 1 week.

Thanks for playing! I appreciate the kind words, I really worked hard to polish the visuals.

This game is great visually and the parkour is very fun and polished. A few notes though. Although the story was great (even the sad ending), I felt that the opening was probably a bit too slow. Like I didn't need several long unskippable dialouge lines to tell me that I should walk faster or keep going away from the hospital. By that point I was just kind of itching to get into the gameplay and it felt like it kept stopping me. Don't get me wrong the cinematic opening sequence was great, I just feel like it went on for a bit too long. My other complaint is that those final jumps were so hard I almost ragequit multiple times. Honestly thank you because I also made a pretty difficult platformer and now I have to experience the feelings I've put other people through. I totally understand though if they were harder for players than you imagined because the same thing happened to me. I played my levels so many times that even the hardest jumps were easy, and then everyone else who played it found them way too difficult. Still though this is an incredible game with good gameplay, a riveting story, and great visuals. Amazing job!

This was a fun platformer! I liked the story telling element (also thank you for having him speed up, haha) Some one screen prompts for the controls would be nice. Since the game takes up the entire page (and I couldn't scroll once the game launched) I didn't see the controls until I opened another tab and scrolled down. Being able to key map would also be really cool. I would have loved to try the platforming with a AD and space for movement and jump.  Overall though great game! Loved the art style, the foreground detailing in the hospital was a really nice touch.

Wow! The artwork was beautiful and really drew me into the setting. The story is mysterious but it does come on a little heavy. There's so much potential for environmental storytelling with your art style that I wonder if it could do a better job carrying the exposition. Just a thought! The dialogue was still well written.

Thank you very much! I really put in a lot of effort this time and I appreciate the kind words. Thanks for playing!

The art is beautiful and the platforming section felt really good to play. The dialogue felt a bit too long in parts, and combined with the walking pace, it slowed things down a lot - maybe having the dialogue play while not stopping the player would feel a bit better. So impressive for a solo dev in a week though, the credits were well deserved :)

Developer

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback. Next time I’ll make sure to add a button so the dialogues can be read at the player’s pace. Thanks for playing!

Great pixel art! The controls feel nice. The story is interesting, though the text animation feels a bit slow. The last platform jump is a skill check :D It's fun since there's only one, but if you're planning to add more, one-way platforms might be a better option. Great work overall!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I'm thinking of continuing it outside of the Jam, I’ll make sure to remember those comments, thanks for playing!

The art direction and animations are definitely strong points.

For the controls, mapping jump to space could make it more intuitive.
I also noticed some difficulty spikes and long monologue sections that couldn’t be skipped, which slightly affected the flow.
That said, great work as a solo dev ❕
I’d love to hear your thoughts on our game as well if you get the chance.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I agree with everything, I’ll make sure to fix it all in the future. Right now, I’m playing your game!
