I really like the strange horror vibe, and the art sets the mood really well. I did get a bit lost at one point though. After getting the torch and entering the parallel world to find grandma's pic, I couldn’t find anything to interact with and ended up feeling a little stuck. Maybe I just missed a clue but a small hint there might help. Overall though, cool concept! It has a lot of potential.
cool game! good job!
Thank you!
I love how there's a way to get to an ending without beating the dreaded unshaded 3d platforms (well, you could skip another painting but it was the only challenging one to me), but the final text is bullying you for not having cleared it ^^
Congrats on getting the secret seventh ending!
The game is gorgeous, especially the dark sun portait (for me). The only thing I believe could be a bit better is a little UI that shows the player the items and which number to press to use it. I got a bit lost in the beggining because I didn't know I had something in my inventory lol. Great game anyways :)
Thank you for the kind words!
Wow really cool game! Loved the atmosphere and idea. Really fun! I had a little trouble playing the game though. I didn't realize I had to use the scroll wheel to equip the paint brush/lighter at the beginning, so I was walking around trying to interact with everything. Eventually I figured this out. I think it also maybe bugged out when I used the mirror on a box? At first I didn't know what the pulsing was about. I thought it was a "warmer/colder" game where I had to walk around until it pulsed more rapidly. But when I figured out the minigame, the text came up and I wasn't able to get the text to go away. I tried it again though and this didn't seem to happen. I think this game is great though and the bugs are probably my only complaint! Lots of attention and work was put into this, and it shows. Great submission!
Thank you for the kind words! And yeah, we learned a lot about UI/UX design this jam. Too bad we ran out of time to implement those fixes!
Wow this is very well made. It looks beautiful and I enjoyed my time playing it! Good job! :)
Thank you for the kind words!
A wonderful little experience. I really enjoyed the way the narrative was paced, with bits and pieces diegetically fed to you through each painting. All the painting areas were really cool to look at and the atmosphere was great. Only major gripe was that some mechanics were a little confusing to grasp, took me a bit realise how the judgement mechanic worked! Great game overall though!
Thank you for the feedback and kind words!!
Cool game! I love the visuals here, and the audio created a mysterious atmosphere.
I wasn't really sure what to do after I lit the fire and beeped my radar mirror at the boxes, so I ended up getting stuck in the first room.
All I wanted was to collect grandma's portrait D:
Hey, thanks for trying out our game. Sorry you got stuck!! You’ll be able to continue when you scan the lock with the mirror!
Just to add to my teammate's comment: The "radar" needs you to click left mouse button when the pulse overlaps with the rings on it! This is how you access some of the content in the game.
I need help. The game and the concept really intrigued me. I want to play it, but I haven't been able to. First of all, I didn't understand the inventory system at all. I thought that any item I picked up would be automatically equipped. I only understood from reading the comments that I have to press keys like 1, 2, 3 to change items. I found the mirror and the first box opened. But now I don't understand the mechanics/mini-game here. Is this some kind of radar? Should I use it to search for something in the room? (web version)
Hi! It's not a radar, it's a timing minigame where you gotta left-click when the blue circle overlaps with a yellow circle. We apologize for not having made the minigame easier to understand.
Yes, I finally figured out the mechanics, maybe a few visual clues would be helpful. I played the game all the way through and really enjoyed it. The story and the environments were very interesting. I had fun playing it. I was also trying to create a "museum with living paintings." The way each painting transitions to a different room/atmosphere in your game is very nice.
I didn't encounter any bugs while playing. Congratulations!
Thank you!
