This game went really deep for your short time frame. I was hooked and wanted to keep going right from the start. Great art style, music, and SFX. And things just worked. 10 out of 10!

Developer

Thank you so much! It means a lot :D

The black monsters kinda jumpscared me when I saw them for the first time. xD. Great game. Very nice story telling.

Can't think of a single flaw to name. Game feels complete in every way.

Developer

Thank you! :D

Nothing to say about the art style , it's beautiful and unique , the puzzles are pretty cool to do and the dialogue is okay . Pretty cool !

Thanks! :D

I'm still stuck in the first puzzle with the 4 lettre word but so far, interesting game. Great work!

Developer

Thanks! Here’s another hint if you want it: the word starts with “l” and it’s a negative word.

Great game and lovely story! As someone who also made a narrative-based game, I am in owe how yours looks so polished and seamless (definitely inspired me to fix my own game lol). The puzzles were a little challenging but I really liked racking my brains over them haha

Developer

Thank you! I am very experienced in making these kinds of games, and writing stories in general, so I’ve picked up a few strategies on how to do it so effectively! Glad you enjoyed the puzzles :D

Nice work, really liked the lining up of the mask to perform an attack that was very original. Ultimately got stuck in the hospital, I couldn't work out the clue or see a pattern to the rooms and was just wandering around aimlessly.

Developer

The mask minigame was the idea of our programmer! For the maze, you’ll see that the screen gets darker and the music gets quieter when you’re going in the wrong direction. So if you want to try again, try looking and listening very closely as you go around the rooms! Press tab to quickly skip through dialogue!

Love the story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also the death music was like tingle inducing :3 Really love the character designs too, giving death a  "red thread" like shes a fate goes crazy. ALSO, PLEASE  give me more hot tumblr mask man too :3 I will say though, half of my playtime was spent on that 4 letter puzzle :sob: i kept putting in the word, but it would just say "Ha thats incorrect" :sob: Really good game tho, S tier :3

Developer

Aww, thanks!! Everyone on the team worked really hard. And yes, Death was inspired by the fates! Belladonna is sometimes referred to as “Atropa Belladonna”. Atropa comes form the word “Atropos” which is the name of one of the fates :D

Really liked the game! The puzzles were very fun, and the character designs were spectacular.

Deaths domain was a bit hard to read but other than that everything was really good.

Developer

Thank you!

The game seems interesting, I got stuck on the 4 letter word and didn't get the meaning of the hint, maybe give me another hint  😉😉. Neverthless, quite the fun game

Developer(+1)

That's okay! A lot of people had a hard time with it. Here's another hint if you want to try again: The opposite of truth

Okey, so I'm just dumb. Anyway, I finished and got both 2 endings. It was a fun game and quite polished for a game jam; I just have one small comment, when you try to escape but get caught, the ending is labeled "The acceptance ending", even though the heroine didn't "accept" her fate, so maybe it could be a third ending. or maybe that's just me. Any way, good job 👌

Developer

Thank you! And you're right, we probably should've made that a separate ending!

Great audio and artwork in this game! Loved the vibe, fun puzzles that were challenging enough and pretty diverse in design. Really ambitious to do something story driven in a week, and with two endings! Great job to the team.

Developer

Thanks! I personally always make story-driven games for game jams, so I'm quite experienced doing it in short amounts of time. But my teammates definitely made it a lot easier!

Submitted(+1)

Wow! This is really well done! I wouldn't expect something like this in a Jam, but it's very polished. Great job!

Developer

Thanks :D

Very neat game. I think the whole game was well executed and I also liked the character designs. Good work!

Developer

Thank you!!

SO MUCH CONTENT!! Only got through one ending but I'm super impressed in how much you could fit in one week, amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed!

Developer

Thank you so much :D

Submitted(+1)

i dont know how yall did to pull this in one week but god its AWESOME, the story, the characters, the art, the music and no bugs! insanely good game guys, good luck :D!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We definitely all worked really hard for this. Both our programmer and composer worked really hard to make everything work and sound good together. And of course I did my best create a compelling story and beauty of art :D

Submitted(+1)

Beside the struggle with the puzzle at start I enjoyed the game. Story is deep and reach, visuals are compelling and the soundtrack is beautiful. Don’t have much to critique, besides that puzzle:)

Thank you for the game and cheers!

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, some people struggled with that puzzle, but I'm glad you managed to figure it out!

This was so touching, you created a beautiful story and executed it nicely! The cutscenes art is nicely crafted and there was enough variety to keep me engaged, the story, the puzzles. The places were definitely strange even though built in a minimalistic style. Congratulations on your work!

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :D

Soooo beautiful. Absolutely stunning art and world building. I loved the game play too and also how you included a quick way to see the other ending!! Thanks for making an awesome game!

Developer

You're welcome and thank you for playing! :D

Amazing! I really have to applaud how smooth of an experience this was, especially for a game jam game. I had a bug-free playthrough and really enjoyed the classic JRPG vibes of the world and story. Quite dark and very strange places indeed!

The art is really amazing, I really loved the simplicity of the pixel art animations and backgrounds that still felt so stylized. The hand drawn 2D sprites are also really beautiful and the character designs are so spooky and amazing. The story and setting are super fitting for the "strange places" theme and felt like a fresh take on a classic perilous place.

The minigames are challenging without getting the player too stuck in one place for too long, which I appreciate. I struggled the most with the first puzzles, but the hint is quite subtle and leads you along a good path ;) I am sure there are other hidden secrets I didn't catch.

The sound design and music are also very beautiful. Your programmer did a great job with the visual motion design, as well.

Overall, a super nice and polished game that I genuinely enjoyed playing and will recommend to my friends. I could totally see this being played by a classic Let's Play YouTuber lol.

Developer

Thank you so much for all your compliments! We all worked really hard! My past games don't usually have many interactive bits, so our programmer and I did our best to come up with something fun and engaging that would complement the story we wanted to tell!
