really strong game loop here with going between the starfox like gameplay to on the ground action. the sword mechanic felt really satifying to cleave off alien heads also if i just pushed it forward without swinging it would kinda juggle them which felt cool. i think the ship section the asteroid hitboxes felt a big and unfair but when i realized you could turn the ship wing it helped with that. great work !

Thank you very much! Really glad you liked it :)

wow, you made this alone in one week?! awesome!! :))
The gameplay was very varied and creative, it was fun to adapt to the changing gameplay mechanism.  The waving of the sword gave a plus joy to the game experience. The ranged blue little guy's sound effect was the cutest, but the aliens voices were creative too :)) I was curious how will it end. Good work! :)

I had a lot of fun playing your game, enjoyed both game modes. Good job!

The game is very very fun! i really enjoyed the funky visuals, the gameplay and I got quite invested in the story!

Only complain I'd have is that the spaceship feels a little slippery, but that didn't impact a lot on the gameplay. Really liked the game!

Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it :)

I loved the game! I didn't think it was my type of thing at first but I started falling for its charm. The characters, the weird places, the little noises they make when they speak, it's all so fun!

Also the forest trees are either judging me for my actions or have not slept in five years :|

Developer

I'm really glad you liked it! You didn't consider the 3rd option for the trees... maybe they are just very high trees 😉 Thanks for playing!

I didn't realize this was a liquid weed factory :O the secret has been revealed.

This was really fun! The visuals and combat were both chaotic in a really fun way that echoes the theme. I loved swinging my face sword around and how it kind of threw the enemies up in the air when I hit them.

FWIW I saw some comments from other Firefox users and I wanted to say I played in browser on Firefox just fine. I had to sit on a black screen for a bit on launch (like honestly almost solid minute), but after the initial load I experienced no hitches or problems or anything like that. I've had to do the same thing for several 3D Unity games for this jam, so I was prepared to just wait it out; maybe there is some issue with Unity 6 3D and WebGL, but I couldn't say for sure. Either way, it's not just a your game thing and the browser version of this game does work on Firefox for me.

Congratulations on a great jam! This game was a joy to play.

That's actually really nice to hear! I guess It is some unity webgl bug with firefox or something.

This game is pretty awesome with a lot of charming visuals! I like the strange environments and especially that pink creature spewing toxic in the 2nd level. I’m 50/50 on the sword swinging, as it is fun to hit stuff with the sword, but since moving the mouse moves the camera, it makes swinging the sword a bit awkward. Nice job!

Developer

Thanks I always try to make some new mechanic and if it hits it hits :)

I like to imagine the Spaceman was holding the sword in his mouth. Love the game and the art it was strange.

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked it, thanks! :)

Loved the artstyle, the enemies were very satisfying to kill and pretty neat the flying part.
However, even though it's good by itself the swinging sword, after sometime it's a bit hard to look at because you move the screen a lot not seeing much.
And found a lot of interesting bugs!
The first, mostly a way of cheesing enemies, of which abuses of the swinging, if I group the enemies in a circle and start going around them and rotate my visual always on them, they would just follow my last position never hitting me. So I  would just kill them.
And the grouping lead to them going over eachother, making some lag spikes.

However the most important is that the game wouldn't play in the browser version, maybe it's a Firefox problem as no one said anything about it yet.

I know, it's a lot of bugs but hey,
overall I really liked the game, well done! 😁

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback, I really appreciate it! :)

Regarding the combat “bug” - you actually described how the enemy AI works and found a clever strategy to deal with them, so good job on that! I wouldn’t necessarily consider it a bug, but it’s interesting to see how players approach the system.

The stacking behavior is intentional as well - it allows you to jump and launch them for more chaotic fun. I personally didn’t notice any lag spikes in the profiler or browser, but I’ll definitely keep an eye on it.

As for the browser version, I haven’t had reports about issues so far, so it might be browser-specific or connection-related. If anyone else experiences it, please let me know.

Overall, this was a pretty big project for 6 days, so there’s definitely room for improvement. Thanks again for taking the time to play and share your thoughts! :D

Oh yeah you definitly did a wonderful job considering the time limit, and yeah It makes It funnier having them just stepping on eachother :D

I'm not sure if they are really lag spikes but the camera teleports a bit when moving the view while attacking.

I did have the same thing happen regarding the browser version. im also on firefox so that might be the problem

Love the character design and art. Quite enjoyed how you made the enemies heads pop off. Would recommend making it clearer in the space section what the hit box of asteroids and your ship is as I found it a little hard to judge what would hit or not (though you have it tuned that it didn't really matter too much). Also in the sword section could change things a bit so the camera isn't moving around so much, it made it hard to see your neat characters! Fun little game!

Thank you very much! :)

I love the 3D art ^^ and this game is hilariously wonky love it!!

Developer

Hahahah thank you! :)

The star fox inspiration is very visible but it also reminded me of the gummi ship sections from the Kingdom Hearts series. The combat still has room for improvements but after getting used to it a bit it's manageable.

Developer

Thanks a lot! Of course, thanks for feedback

Really neat game. I like that there is a variety to gameplay as in two modes (flying ship and fighting). Just like the other commenters said, it would be better to adjust sword swinging mechanics, though the idea itself is good. I also like the mix of 2D and 3D graphics. Good work!

It's fun, although it bothers me a little that you have to use the mouse to control everything. Other than that, I loved it! Great game

Developer

Thanks you very much! For the feedback too! :)

Very cute and fun game!

Im' not sure about the sword swipe mechanic; itis cool but it need a little fixing to make it feel better while playing. I dont know exactly what though.

As for what I would change; the text on the spaceship part it's difficult to read when the white sun is where the text is.
And also, for teh spaceship part, the collisions seem unfair; the shapceship box collision is too big (or the rocks one, i dont know)
and a lot of time you crash without feeling like you should crash.

for the rest, it is pretty nead, good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you liked it! For the sword swiping yeah it's a risky mechanic but I wanted to do something unique and for the flying I think It's not the colliders, It's actually the camera's perception of depth because I tried to create that old flying games feeling, like Star Fox. Thanks for the feedback! :)

Submitted(+1)

The art style was very unique and funny to me, made me smile!

Swinging the sword around was fun but gave me a headache lol

The game have lots of heart put into it, well done!

Developer

Thank you very much! :)

Fun game. I liked the visual style you went for :)

Also nice that you were able to create a couple of different levels with different enemy types, that really spices things up a bit.

One point of feedback: in the flying part, it is sometimes hard to estimate whether you are already past a fuel pickup/asteroid or not due to the perspective.

Overall pretty solid entry, well done!

Developer

Thank you very much for the nice words and feedback! For the flying part, I was going for that old-school early 3D vibe, inspired by games like Star Fox, which had similar depth perception issues. But you're right, it can definitely be improved! :)
