My Game Is Not Appearing in Itch.io Search Results (Public & Indexed Settings Enabled)

Hello everyone,

I recently published my game BallerLife on itch.io, but I’m having an issue — it does not appear in the search results when I search for it by name.

Here are the details:

  • The game title is BallerLife

  • The project is set to Public

  • All visibility settings are enabled

  • I have added a cover image

  • I have uploaded screenshots

  • The page is fully customized

  • The project is not in draft mode

  • No adult content restrictions are enabled

Despite all of this, when I search for “BallerLife” on itch.io, it does not show up in the search bar results.

Is there something I might be missing regarding indexing? Does it take time to get indexed? Are there specific requirements I need to meet to appear in search and browse?

I would really appreciate any help or guidance from developers who experienced the same issue.

Thank you in advance! 🙏

it is worth to be concerned, this unpleasant situations seems to happen a lot with new uploads and we’re tired! Even if the page is public and indexing is enabled, it can still take anywhere from a few hours to “who knows when” before a game actually appears in search. Itch.io doesn’t really show any progress or notification for indexing, so it can feel like it’s broken when it’s just waiting in the queue. Usually the page is still accessible through a direct link while that process is happening. If it’s been a couple of weeks with no change, then it might be worth contacting support.
