How does the game fit the theme?
It is a dungeon roguelike but there is a catch: some rooms have strange things inside them which ehlps to find your way to the boss.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Font, sound elements and health bars are pre-made assets

This was pretty cool! Liked the elements you put in the game, the upgrading system and the enemy variety. Boss could have been a bit harder - but maybe that was because I found it at my very last step, so I already was overpowered.
A fun roguelike! It looks beautiful. I like games of this genre. I had a prototype of a similar game in the past, but I never finished it. It's great to play a game like this.
The art style is simple but very beautiful, and the enemy variety is nice. Good job!
Really impressed with the amount of different systems you set up in the time - especially the various enemy types/behaviours.
Encountered a small bug - sometimes there was still an enemy alive when the "room is cleared" pop-up appeared and it could hurt me while I was picking my upgrade. Otherwise it felt very polished and fun!
Solid roguelike mechanics. There is a small issue where you get a room clear popup despite enemies still being alive in that room.
The title screen and UI are clean, and the sprite work is really appealing. The little flame protagonist especially has personality. Combat feels good too. Running around slicing things up is satisfying, and the enemy balance stood out to me. The beefy slime vs. the laser eyeball that drops in one-two hits is a nice contrast.
Choosing power-ups between rooms keeps it engaging, and I liked having a map to track where I'd been. Around step 6 things definitely ramped up; I got absolutely mowed down lol. Unlocking dash was a great moment, especially since it doubles as an attack. And the music fits well, easy to get into a rhythm while clearing rooms.
I had fun playing this.
The only thing that felt slightly missing for me was stronger combat feedback, it could make the fights feel more impactful.
Nice work overall!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on our game as well if you get the chance.
Nice little roguelike! The upgrades are a little unbalanced, which is completely understandable for a jam game, but there was a nice sense of progression through each room. I'm sure you've already been told, but I did notice the bug where the room would say "cleared" but there was still some enemies, but good work!
The monster designs are really cute, but maybe adding a bit of feedback when hitting/being hit will let the game feel more punchy!
Cool game! Love the art and the minimap!
The upgrades could maybe be a bit more interesting, but they’re totally fine for a game jam. If you decide to update the game after the jam, it could be fun to expand or tweak them a little 🙂
