Thank you! And about the performance, I’d blame myself too as I could have done a better job with optimization. We noticed possible performance issues right at the end, and I should have tested on a lower-spec machine. We might patch it to run better after the game jam.

Awesome! Haha, cucumber was the perfect code word sniper. Thanks for the great comment!

Thank you! I’m glad you had fun! :) And thanks for sharing the small bug!

Fixed!

Thank you for the kind words, and for flagging the item naming! The item naming is actually a bug on our end. Each item does have a name, but they stopped displaying at some point during development and we somehow missed it. I will fix the item name display.

Thank you so much! I crunched pretty hard on this one, so it’s really nice to hear. Zikk Sounds did a great job with the voice acting, as always. And I learned that adding subtitles gets pretty tedious when you have that many voice lines, haha :D

Haha, thank you Jeremy!

WOW! Love it! Manipulating pixels is really cool and I love that you added the screenshot/photo step there! Plays well and art is amazing. Well done both of you!

Had some trouble closing the doors from time to time. Are you supposed to use every item to check if someone’s a vampire, or is one enough?

Interesting game!

I also have thought of making card game where you play with/against three other NPCs. Card games can be tricky to develop quickly during jams, what do you think?

The game would benefit from clearer UI. For example P2 to P3 is confusing when you don’t see the player names, also the font “ATTACK” can be read “ATTACH”, so I wasn’t sure am I attaching the card for some combo or attacking.

Great entry, love the atmosphere! 5/5 Well done!

There is a list in the backroom (also first screenshot) which can be used to decypher what the customer was ordering.

I enjoyed this one. Great mechanic idea! Well done!

I like that you created a top-down shooter! I would have preferred it to be harder as at first I dodged the ghost enemies, but then I just collected them.

I trusted my cursor, and the character shoots perfectly to the cursor point, so my brain just ignored the laser sight completely. I would suggest trying to disable the laser sight and seeing if inaccurate bullets work better than the laser.

Fun troll moments! Now I know that I have a skill issue :D

The start screen and cover are cool and I like how clean the game looks and plays. I only wish it had a minimap. Well done! :)

Thank you! :)

Nice! Thanks for playing! 😊

Instant buy! I gotta use these in a game someday. Keep up the good work! 😊

Nice Icons! Any chance you could offer a ZIP version?

Really nice game! How long have you been developing it?

Twisted Tides is an on-rails sea monster shooter where you sail between islands, fight sea monsters, and upgrade your ship to take on the Kraken. 🐙

Just pushed a small quality update (v1.0.3): tentacle monsters now chase you, treasure chests have a collect effect, and starting islands are a bit easier.

🎮 Play here: https://roopekorpela.itch.io/twisted-tides

Would love some players and feedback. Thanks! 🏴‍☠️

Hi mumusi! Thanks for making this pack available! I used couple of the loops in my small game SkiFreeze ⛷️ You’re credited on the itch page. Cheers!

Hi! Do you happen to have a preview of the tracks? YouTube/SoundCloud?

If anyone is reading this, go play → Apoapsis

Thank you for the nice comment, Shogun! I shared it with our team. I’m really glad you enjoyed the game. Also happy you liked the Jolly Roger skill tree, that was kind of a random idea and I wasn’t sure if I should do it like that, but I decided to go with it. 😄

And thanks a lot for reporting the bugs as well. We’ll fix those when we find time and energy to do an update for the game.

Now I can sneak past the monsters, and I got a lot further. Can you tell me what to do at the corn field or how to find the ID for the door? I really want to finish the game. 😅

And what is the blue stuff on the ground? Some audio effect happens when standing on it.

One of the best games of this jam (if not the best). I’m amazed at how well everything works together, the audio, art, and gameplay. 5/5

I didn’t manage to reach the end yet. I ran out of bullets against two monsters. I think I used my bullets and saved, and then I couldn’t find more ammo. I’ll try to finish the game the next time I play.

I’m going to follow you guys, you clearly know what you’re doing. Keep up the good work 💪

NICE! I really enjoyed this one. The music is so good! Who made the song? I tried to look for the composer but couldn’t find it. Maybe you could add each person’s role in the credits?

I liked the dissolve effect when an enemy is killed. And I was pleasantly surprised that there were upgrades when I finally found the stairs!

Great job guys!💪🏼

I liked the typewriter effect with the symbols. The audio was pleasant and the visuals looked good overall.

I did have some trouble figuring out how to play though. The enemies didn’t seem to do anything, and I couldn’t figure out how to get the hexagons. I did place exactors on the rocks, but I’m not sure what that does.

I think it’s cool, and it feels like it just needed a bit more time. I hope you guys can do a small update after the jam to to make it more playable!

I like the strange and unique art!

Adding clearer instructions or a “How to Play” popup would improve the overall experience.

Character art is great and it looks clean in both the gameplay and the menu. I liked the music as well.

To my taste, the gameplay felt a bit simple since I was mostly matching patterns. I am not sure how it could be expanded, but maybe it could ask a little more from the player in recognizing the situation at hand.

Just sharing some thoughts. I think it is an excellent entry. Well done!

Solid entry! I didn’t face any issues in the WebGL build. The spinning wall was a nice surprise, and the ending was cool. I’d switch the gun to the right hand personally. 😄

Bruh, I just tested your game and I genuinely enjoyed it. Don’t call it garbage!! Thank you for playing our game!

Thank you Steve! 🌱 We have experienced 5 person team, and we also created game together with the same exact team in previous Brackeys game jam (the game is called Stuffed Guardians).

Awesome! Sounds like a really successful jam for you ✨ Best of luck with future updates to this game and your next game jams!

Thank you! I agree, Zikk, our voice and SFX guy, did a great job once again on this game. I also agree that there are still places where more SFX could be added.

I am not completely sure that more voice lines would always make it better. I think the four custom upgrade SFX work really well, and for a game jam it might have been too much to also ask Zikk to create separate voice lines for upgrades. That said, I hear you. The voice lines are great, so there are definitely places where adding more of them could enhance certain actions and moments.

I am really glad you had fun playing!

Thank you! I agree, it definitely needs more juice. We had to rush a few things at the end, so for example the treasure chests should have much better effects when you hit them. We’ll use the jam feedback to adjust/balance things a bit after this rating period. 🙂

Thank you for playing! 🙏 I’m really sorry it crashed during the kraken. This is the first time I’ve heard of that happening, so I hope it was just a one-time issue. Sorry you ran into that!

Thank you for playing and for the kind words. We will most likely nerf the blowfish a bit or do some adjustments to it after the jam. Thanks for pointing it out! 😅
